OCAT was derived from the Oregon Cascade Young Marines. It was started by the XO of the Oregon Cascade Young Marines for the kids enjoyment and to get some extra fun and bonding together. It has since then progressed into a full fledged team that has been trained by SWAT and includes military discipline and tactics. With 2 former police officers, 2 former military veterans, and one active duty SWAT member as staff on the OCAT team, the kids have really learned a lot. Now when you hear "kids" you think of 12 year olds that run around and scream and don't call hits and all that jazz. Well, we're different. We have staff and older leaders that are above the age of 16 that are hand picked that show responsibility for the kids and how they act. If a kid is proven to be not calling his hits, then the team runs 2 miles. We aren't here to waste anyone's time, we are here to have fun and show that we will not cause any problems. We are hoping to slowly make our way into the bigger games.
In order to join OCAT, one must become a Young Marine and be below the age of 18.
What's your take on this? Would it be alright if they participated in some events?
