Never, Read the whole thing, this was a volunteer list, only 20 people were able to go to this.

You'll have to go when the place opens.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty

Dang it I guess I'll go when it opens.

Thank you, to everyone that came out last night! Great to put faces to names and shake hands with you all. Your input was varied, insightful and extremely helpful!

Reaper- What if our set-changes were bi-weekly or monthly? If we got enough volunteers, I could offer free play for 2 hours in exchange for labor... You could come after-hours and assist with the heavy-lifting and moving stuff around; help plan the next configuration and then play it afterwards.

Here's a suggestion:

The 808th is based out of Vancouver, WA.

I used to be the manager of pdxCAGE indoor arena, and Nocte was the manager before me.

Nocte had a setup going with a local team, the 808th, that in exchange for free play for their team (they have approximately 8-12 members), they would be your additional help. They would come in when needed and help with labor, as well as with weekly cleanup. The CAGE was a lot bigger, so you might not need them as much for that, but they also did other things. They were good at innovating new things and tricks for gameplay and making computers and helping with electronic construction.

Also, something I noted with the CAGE was getting a base number of players to keep it fun for everyone else. When a group of 2-3 shows up to play, they need others to play with. To get business jumpstarted, having a team of 8-12 that regularly come in--as well as starting a monthly membership--helps keep the place full with a few people at all times, so that there is always a party if people come to shoot at each other. Because if 2 people show up and it's only them alone in an arena, why pay to come when they could have done that at home?

I'd offer my league (CAG) up for this, but it's too many people and frankly not everyone on the team would be active in helping to earn their free play. I'd suggest you get in talks with the 808th (PM me and I can get you their phone and facebook contact info) to be your "house team".

Also, it helped to have their numbers on a list, so you could call them to come in and provide OPFOR in people do come in and it's a slow day.

Another thing that helped:

When I took over, the manager was not getting paid enough to manage as well as build the arena. To make up for that, I offered free monthly play to people to come in and help build it up. This was more for a large, empty warehouse. It helped bring in community involvement as well as quickly build a room full of OSB buildings. Also, monthly memberships made more regular customers, which quickly got the mininum number of players needed to make walk-in's have a good time shooting someone other than the person they came in with.

Then I bought all the wood myself and the place shut down, the owner fled to lebanon, and the brother of the owner wouldn't let me back in to get my wood back. Now I hate Lebanese people, except women, and my friend Ramsey. Lebanon owes me $2,500.

I think with your smaller arena, you don't need as much help, as you already have the mobile structures (might need a few more, but so far, it seems plenty), though DJ has a good suggestion with the non-dangerous (kids = dumb) structures added to the arena.

Also, the electronics and gameplay modules would probably be my first priority, second to the PA system and smoke/light effects.

They are, but arenas are going to sell what sells to kiddies.
