We're talking about the one across the street, next to the Jack in the Box, right?

Will someone please let Weasel know that I will be there around 7:30. I just don't want him thinking I'm flaking or anything like that. Thanks much. :)

Thanks for having us!

I can see the place working well with what scenarios and amount of people we had, but anymore might be crowded. Overall though, I can see it working very well.

Ohh, it deff needs some air flow. I was sweating 5 minutes in.

Hydrate less. PERSONAL PROBLEM.

But yeah, I think a fan would help.

had a great time, the owners are open-minded.
the field is big enough for 20ish people to have fun i'd say.
and the make shift cover can be easily moved around to meet game play styles.
axis- thanks for inviting us. i probably can't drop by on a regular basis but i'll defiantly come in once in a while and have some fun ;)

Tac ops recon AAR:

The people: I met the owners and discussed their business and their business philosophy. They stated right up front that AP is not their target demographic. These folks have 2 other business', all of their business' are targeted towards children's entertainment . They make no bones about it, that's where the money is. This place is in business to turn a profit. Gosh, what a surprise! A business designed to make profit. That said, they welcome airsoft "pro's". They are open to suggestions on how to make it better.

The place: Is located in a strip mall . There is a bank at one end. DO NOT OPENLY DISPLAY YOUR REPLICAS! Please note the jail is very close too. If you ignore the first admonition, it will be a short trip :). I noted several of the younger participants in the group, openly waving around replicas right at the front window. Please remember, time and place people. The business is still under construction, however it is usable. When you enter, there is a main lobby area. I noted a soft drink machine and a glass display case with a few replicas. There are two staging or ready rooms at opposing ends of the arena area. The 6000 sq. feet estimate is probably pretty close, although this is probably the entire business, not the arena. The ready rooms open into the arena area. There are two opposing "hallways" that run the entire length of the arena, these hallways allow a quick flank of the entire arena, but you have to be quick as there are openings spaced regularly along the hallways that allow exit into the main arena with assorted cover and barricades, mostly made of OSB . There are many fake plants spaced around randomly, which I thought was a nice touch. I suggested some random plastic barrels and tires to help break up some of the shooting zones of fire. I noted roughly three zones or whatever you want to call them. As I was taking photos ( coming later) I observed a group of folks ( Jewish Ninja et al) who were able to nicely able to control the arena by using good tactics. A bit more cover will negate these lanes of fire. I think a person with a SAW could own the place due to these lanes.

The guns that the place provides are short barreled CQB m4s. I did not closely examine them, so I cannot comment on brand / quality.

In conclusion, an indoor MOUT village it is not. However it is a place to get in out of Oregon winter and have a little trigger time. For me it is about equal distance to here or the Hillsboro facility. I had visions of the CAGE going up there. Alas it is not. The people who own it are open to constructive suggestions. Just remember what the mission of the place is. When I get back from my weekend adventure I will post the pics I took. Until then....DJ out.

The owners and staff were VERY receptive to input. The facility, as it stands, is useable for limited training, and is definitely a decent setup to just go and have fun. The arena is pretty well balanced, as no side has an immediate crushing advantage.

To echo DJ, this is a facility designed mainly for the younger set, and I think they will hit that target pretty well. But it's pretty comfy for us older folks too, what with carpeted floors and reconfigurable walls. Seriously, the carpet is a nicer touch than I would have thought. Even with a fair number of pellets scattered across the floor, I never had traction issues.

The owners were very forward about their plans to improve the arena, generally complete with a timeline as to when folks are scheduled to come out to do the installation of hardware.

They are planning on putting cameras in the arena and streaming the footage to the waiting room. Which opens up the possibility of doing team training complete with overhead footage to take home and analyze.

The arcade games they are installing in the lobby will definitely be aimed more at the kids, but the soda / water / gatorade and pizza, as well as the two party rooms that could probably be used as staging / briefing areas are bonuses for the grown-ups. Also, there are a bunch of fast-food choices in the immediate area too.

The owners have plans to add more lights, a sound system, and interactive props to add variety beyond "capture the flag" and "team deathmatch". Seems solid, which is impressive since it is marketed at the younger teens.

I'm definitely going to go back for at least informal plastic-slinging once or twice a month.

So it sounds like a great place I can refer parents to. Kids want to play Airsoft, it's better they do it at places like these instead of in suburban neighborhoods. Did anybody snap a photo of the arena? I'd like to post this up on the playfields page. PM or email me. Thanks!
