M1919 feeding ideas

Postby EdgarAllanPro » Sat Oct 08, 2011 9:34 pm

I'm building a custom M1919, and was planning on using a version 7 gearbox, but I wasn't sure how I was going to get it to feed. I was thinking about using an M14 hopup, but drill a hole in the top and just use a hopper. I don't really like hoppers though, but I see no other choice.

You could use the guts of a airsoft M249 stuck inside of whatever box magazine you have attached to the 1919.

The issue isn't "What internals would I use?"
It's more of "How would I get the bbs inside the hopup chamber and a fast enough rate to match the fire rate of an M14 with an 11.1V li-po"
And speaking of speed, I don't think a gravity fed hopper would feed fast enough to have that high of a fire rate -.-

Why don't you just take an m14 and turn it into a 1919 with a stock.
Cut off the body of m14 past the mag well and then you'll have everything you need mechanics wise and for a mag just get this

You can take off the fake bullets and increase the mags holding capacity.
Kick me. I go "Moooooooo!!!!!"

Edgar- take a look on killbuckets.com at Ian's designs for a servo driven box mag. His design works well.

All of those designs on killbuckets put mine to shame T.T
Anyways, I'll probably just build one of those then. Something tells me that it would just work better if I did it there. Thanks for the help guys!

Wood and tape. And nails.

Post pictures when you're done, this sounds pretty cool.
