Best way to carry MP5KPDW?

Postby icebullet » Wed Sep 21, 2011 7:46 pm

So yes, as the title says, I need a way to carry my MP5 during battle. I was thinking of using 2 weapon catches to hold it on my back plate while moving about with my primary. Can anyone recommend something? By the way, I am using a KingArms Wasatch plate carrier. I know that it might not be very good weight wise, but I am willing to spend some money to do it right.

EDIT: This is for MOUT/field ops.

Well I just have a one point sling attached to mine and she dangles. I've seen some ginormous (is that really a f**king word windows?) leg holsters for the MP5k's.

Here's a tip: Take the stock off. It's pointless if its your sidearm-ish type gun and it will take a lot of weight and cumbersomeness out of carrying it around

Im heading out the door so you will have to find it yourself, but the sexiest way is the way Jayne carries his modified mp5k at the beginning of Serenity. When he gives the "Lets be bad guys" line. Believe its a HK specific mp5k sling mount, if iirc as you pull it down to use it, the sling charges the weapon.

Here is the line, and a quick glimpse. Of what I believe halo was talking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvozGpMu_p8

You got me thinking and I came up with this for a back mounting.
It uses a one point sling, a power drill hanger and some paracord.
TA-DA. I might run it at Jungle Express and see how it works, So far i've done jumping jacks and it stays put.

Camera phone bad. But you get the idea.

shazaam anything on your gear that "dangles". D:<

Rioting cows looks to have a good system, but I wouldn't be able to stand carrying a floppy SMG. I'd need a kydex holster or something else that could mount to my gear.

Irene Adaptive Sling. AP members get a hefty discount on those too! I love mine!
Your other option would be to run a 2 point sling and keep the thing on your side/back when not in use. I usually keep a shotgun on my back with a 2 point sling. I just don;t know how itll work with a small MP5

Is there any reason why you want to carry a SMG as opposed to a pistol as your back up?

Either an IAS, two one-points, a one point and some of those squeeze-clips with paracord, or a duffel bag.

Exactly. More Firepower. But I've got a fine USP that works as well for non-CQB/MOUT situations.
