I'm thinking about joining, but the problem is my gear stuffs is black. And my mom wouldn't be too happy about me buying new gear... Unless it's unbelievably cheap, which I'm pretty sure I can find somewhere.

All gear choices are acceptable as long as they allow you to be effective on the field. ALICE is cheap and proven, so it is definitely allowed, but at this point a MOLLE based system is definitely encouraged more due to the fact that the pouches are much more likely to be usable as you start trying new gear configurations.

For that reason I suggest buying a MOLLE battle belt and harness and going from there. It will only come out slightly more than an ALICE rig, and I think most people will find they like it more.

As the post says, there is a grace period after joining the team in which you can get new gear. You can also just paint or dye your old gear if that suits you.

Condor OPS chest rig is a nice option,buy 3 mag pouchs, and two utility pouchs for what ever.

So you guys are the Cascadian Light Infantry Team. I don't think you should have a hard time finding people to join your team. Who wouldn't want to play with C.L.I.T. as often as possible.

hey i am interested in joing. i have jeans, t shirrts, a od chest plate and mag pouches. ill eventually get more cash for gear. my gun is a vfc mk16. and its black. is that okay? and whats the age requirement?
also, i live in beaverton. are you guys really far away?

Members of CLI are located all over the Portland-Metro area (translation: you live right in our area).

We don't discriminate based on starting gear or age, or any other factor. (In fact, that gear sounds like you are a step above the level of gear some members of the team had when they first joined.) We are all about if you are a good fit for the team, and if the team is a good fit for you. The only way to know that is if you come out and play with us.

That said, since you are under-age I will need to meet with you parents to make sure they understand the risks involved with this sport and make sure you have their support. They are the ones that sign your waivers, so I want to make sure they are well informed and support your activity.

Gun color doesn't really matter to anyone that isn't a gearwhore (shit, gotta go buy spray paint I guess) As for other gear try and get full OD as soon as possible. Jeans and Tshirts kinda ruin the experience for some people. Don't forget to get a good pair of boots. Might be difficult for you since you're so young and you'll be growing every few months.
