Tan or OD with Multicam Uniform?

Postby Rainmaker » Sat Sep 03, 2011 7:04 pm

My team has a new and stricter uniform code. Since we started out doing CQB, we played with Multicam pants and tan boots, black everything else, for the pure awesome badass PMC look. After finally expanding to play airsoft in the great outdoors, we realized that Multicam uniform with black gear was a terrible choice! We considered Coyote Brown since it can be worn with pretty much anything such as MARPAT or Multicam. Coyote Brown gear is hard to find tho so we are considering using tan or OD gear. would tan or OD look out of place on Multicam BDU's?

How is CB hard to find? But, use either CB or Ranger Green/Smoke Green.

Go with Ranger Green.
My reasoning on this beyond aesthetics is that Ranger Green is an Army color, and Army are the ones using Multicam in the real world.

Tan/Khaki and OD both work very good with Multicam.

What Catch said. Most people on SOTA use either TAN or OD.

All of the suggested colors go with multicam just fine. CB isn't hard to find either. I use a CB CIRAS with my multicam, and it looks/works good.

after talking with them, ranger green is out of the question. Many of them simply do not want to spend twice as much on a multicam rig as they could for something OD or tan. I'm just wondering how OD and tan would look with multicam. I've seen in some pictures that tan is too light and that OD doesn't match with the brownis tone of Multicam.

Ranger green is ruled out simply because my teammates would prefer to shop from evike and GI and they do not carry much RG, if any. Next time I get to the field, I'll try on someones tan vest and see how it looks on my MC BDU's

Then that limits you guys pretty much to Condor gear which is something you should always avoid. At least get Pantac or Flyye.

Yeah I'm currently looking at a Specter Gear chest rig in CB, but my teammates stick with Condor. unfortunately, thats the EXACT reason why they are looking into tan and OD. IMO a tan battle belt/H Harness rig wouldnt look TOO bad on Multicam, but Pantac and Specter Gear seem to be out of their price ranges.

personally... I'd mix Woodland BDU here in Washington with stuff.
Since I don't have a PASGT Helmet Cover in Multicam, I have put on a BDU cover with it. it's pretty good actually, but only because I am not going through 4 different scheme terrain in one patrol.
But to pick something that doesn't look like some idiot who's poor and can't afford a 800 dollar gun and 500 dollar accessories...

going with OD or Ranger Green is better (opinion comes from first hand observation) because it helps add that greener color to it. But if you can, its better to save up a good while for a Multicam rig.

Did anybody mention how much Evike SUCKS???

Andddddd go with RG or tan, because that's what rangers/seals/PJ's/all the cool kids wear with their multicam.

I've used both OD and tan with MC and each work well, with OD working a bit better in the spring/winter and tan working better in the summer/fall seasons. I personally run tan/khaki gear for all my cammies.

If your 100% stuck on buying your gear from evike/GI (which I suggest against, as condor is crap) I'd take OD over their tan as it has a more even tone for pouch to pouch.

http://www.tacticalassaultgearstore.com/ is having a sale on all TAG and Shellback gear (30% off!) till labor day. Use FBFAN at checkout. I'm not sure if that stuff is out of your price range, but you get what you pay for, and I'll bet dollars to donkeys that it'll last longer.
