For an American style SWAT kitlist, look at the following:

-Black, Navy, or OD BDUs
-Black vest (crossdraw, SWAT Style, "Delta" style, etc. )
-Knee/elbow pads
-Black PASGT helmet or Riot Shield style helmet
-Goggles/Balaclava
-Various dropleg units

While the equipment used by SWAT teams varies by unit and situation, some of the more common types of hardware used by them may include:

-MP5 submachine gun with flashlight grip (Note that P90's will be less common due to unit cost and reduced stopping power against unarmored targets)
-M4A1 Carbine with choice of attachments
-9mm/.40 Cal/.45 Cal pistol with flashlight (various makes, typically Glock, Beretta, H&K, Sig-Sauer, etc. Note that Desert Eagles are probably not going to be carried by SWAT teams)
-M24/Remington 700
-Remington 870/Mossberg 500
-Smokes/Flashbangs
-Plexiglass riot shield/ballistic shield

Optional would be "Flexcuffs" which are disposable plastic handcuffs similar to zip ties. These could be affixed to a kit for aesthetics. For the extremely hardcore, you could look at rappelling gear (try at your own risk). You could also look at a police back patch for your vest.

There are plenty of people here who are more than willing to help answer your questions as long as you state yourself clearly, act politely and graciously, and be willing to do some independent research to try and answer your questions yourself first. Do this, and your stay here will be much more enjoyable.

There are a few SWAT vests floating around on the web. Woodland cammies are easily found.

So what did you end up going with?

Anxious to see some pics of your set-up. I know this is an old post but my son and I are currently building up a very modern and very fabulous city SWAT type set-up and it's cool to see others interested in something different for a change.

We're going to be building up a subdued urban digital kit (colors are gray colors with specks of black mixed in) with some solid black gear items mixed in with the overall kit. Will be recovering a modified DBT Praetorian releasable carrier and a modified Blackwater zip-up carrier vest with the digital fabric. I'll be adding a MOLLE cummerbund to it and taking off all of the sewn-on pouches and then converting the pouches over to MOLLE pouches in subdued urban digital material and will be making combat shirts out of the same material along with some gray stretch-fit shirts...can't wait till it's finished!

I wish I knew how to do that "let me google that for you" feature... someones gotta post a tutorial on that.

as for SWAT kits, the SWAT vest is almost always going to be part of it. I would only be able to answer "I wanna be the SWAT pointman" or something. but the Jester has the right idea... GOOGLE.
