Postby Kommodant » Fri Aug 12, 2011 12:58 am

Well I'm in the market for an AK-47 and I was wondering which manufacture you guys would recommend? I know i want to get one that has a full stock and wood furnishing is a must.

VFC ak's are kinda bad. Not worth the price. Stick with a CYMA, or a Real Sword if you can afford it.

Real Sword Type 56-1s. They're built like a real AK, and likely are built by Norinco anyway. They're wonderful; Fragistan has three and we love them to death.

Real Sword if you have the cash, Dboys if you need to keep the price down. I love the bajebus out of my Real Sword, and have nothing but praise for their AK, and the brand as a whole. Personally, I like the fixed stock over the under-folder since its easier to put an 11.1v in it, but they are both great models.

Theres the E1 red star
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=5331

Then theres the (I know you said AK47. but well this is better.)
CYMA 048
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=5561

Stamped steel body, Laminated wood furniture.

Theres also an M version that is the AK47. as opposed to the 74.
But my search found it on ASM...(I won't recomend anyone to shop there.)

+1 for the real sword. Very nice , tough and realistic. It meets all of your criteria too. Had one , sold it, wished I had not now.

The main downside for me with the CYMA and Echo 1 AKs is that the wood they use "looks like it got ripped off a Wal-Mart coffee table", to quote one reviewer. I like the Real Sword because it looks and feels like a real AK. In fact, most of the parts are from real AKs! Huge plus in my book :D

This!

We have a Real Sword SVD in the Beran arsenal...quality is unmatched at any price. Holding out until I can afford a Real Sword AK.

Now if you want thrifty, and intellectually challenging (read cheap and some assembly required)...I have almost two AK's in parts...

If you don't mind the look of the Type 56, then totally go for it. Plus you want a AK47 which the Type 56 is all AK47 parts, but with an AKM stamped receiver, so that should float your boat pretty well.

If you can't stand the look of the Type 56, such as myself, then you're better off with a VFC, Inokatsu, Guarder kit, or LCT kit. If you don't mind clones, then Dboys is a great option (Dboys only makes the AKMS and AK74 varients) and CYMA is not too bad either. I don't recommend converting the Type 56 into an AKM as I have been doing since it's a major pain in the a$$ and costs a lot.
