Are these allowed?

Postby Hutch » Fri Jul 15, 2011 4:33 pm

My question is: are these allowed in most AP games?

I think it depends on the organizer and if they wish to allow them. I know at LOWIII they were not allowed. And tho some guys tried to use them anyways they were just ignored.

It depends on the event. Grenade rules will be listed as "GRENADE RULES", and those would fall into the area covered by "GRENADE RULES".

Basically what I'm trying to say, is read the event thread /handbook and focus on the "GRENADE RULES" section.

Just use a tennis ball. If (when) you lose it, you won't be out $16.00.

I use empty aluminum cans wrapped with duct tape, kind of simulating a flashbang. When I'm playing CQ, I secure three broken pencils under the duct tape on some of the "nades" in case I want to throw one that won't roll so much.

Cheap. And I don't get pissed when one gets lost.

I had some of those Madbull's back in the noob days, and they aren't worth it. If you want to pull pins, get Thunder B's. At least then you get to scare the crap out of people.

At games where grenade rules are in effect, I've used that exact grenade. Threw away all my old tennis balls. I love the feel of pulling the pin and letting the spoon fly off and I don't really care if I lose them.

Some event hosts have grenade rules and some don't allow them.. Depends on the game.

As far as tennis ball grendaes... Most event hosts won't allow plain tennis balls. Some want you to midify them so they at least look like grenades.

The answer is most AP games with structures yes. But be careful with them. They have a decent amount of metal so don't throw them to hard.

I have trouble getting the all-foam grenades to go the distance, so to speak. The thicker foam on the grenade in the OP makes for better flight and the foam is heavier (but softer) than the metal assembly, so it rarely flies metal-first into anyone's face.

Don't the LARP douchefags throw tennis balls at each other while screeching "fireball!" when they throw them?

As I am heterosexual, have an IQ in the triple digits, and have actually lain with a woman, I think I'll pass on chucking tennis balls as grenades.

If it is going to simulate a grenade, it should actually do SOMETHING. Either blow up, or scatter BBs, or hell, roll on the ground and play La Cucaratcha at 160 dB. Something.

Tennis balls all the way! The grenades are just easy to lose and unnecessarily expensive : /

If you can make a grenade play music instead of exploding I will pay you in Credits for them
