Something to hold the KWA KMP9?

Postby MAB » Wed Jul 06, 2011 9:46 am

Hey guys thinking about getting one or two KWA KMP9's and wanted to make sure Id be able to carry them efficiently, so I did some research and really couldn't find any holsters that would fit except this http://www.dsarms.com/Tactical-Thigh-St ... /BT30332R/ which is priced somewhere around $130 or so I've heard, a little high for me, and this http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=7594 I know its not optimized for the MP9 but GI's website says that "customers who bought this also bought" and the KMP9 is listed sooo, maybe with some modding it might work, anyone have any personal experience with this holster. But what really seemed like the best option was a weapons catch, what I want to know is if it would be able to hold the gun through a skirmish tightly and without letting it slip out? Also if any of you out there own this gun, what are you using?

Thanks for the help!

the reason you cant find a holster easily is because it's a submachinegun, not a pistol.

they are meant to be slung, like most rifles or SMGs. that being said if you have the railed version and not the one with the foregrip, pantac makes an MP7 dropleg holster that the MP9Rs more or less fit into. i cant imagine having that much weight hanging on your thigh, though.

I had one of those Pantac holsters when I had my MP7 and its actually quite adjustable. If your getting the MP9 without the front vert on in (the railed version) I see no problem with it working with that.

I'd not suggest a weapons catch as I have one as well, and while it works, it doesn't stay secured as well as there is no MOLLE webbing on the back to weave the catch with (I realize that's a difficult sentence, but I'm not sure how else to state it). I've also used mine for a shotgun which is much heavier and longer than an MP9 so it might work just fine.

If your feeling creative, you could try to fashion one out of a drop leg, an M14 pouch/shingle and some velcro tape for tying down the grip.

You can also pick it up at just about any store. I got mine at a fabric store.

I don't have a small SMG so I used my deeg which is close, but you get the idea.

If you can find one of these in stock you can use it.

Even with the vert grip it should fit, the mp5k fit in it.

Single point sling and a heavy duty metal keyring. That's what I use with my KWA MP7.

I have this mp7 holster I can sell you. It has straps that wrap around the gun and snap shut, I think it's adjustable. So it would work with a foregrip or attachments.

I think I will just go with a bungee sling, It would probably work better than a heavy holster at your side. + I would rather not trake the risk of spending the money and the pantac holster and find it dosnt work. How are Condor/OE techs bungee slings? They're only $15, And which is better, dual or single bungee, does it really make a difference cause Im also looking to get a bungee sling for my KWA SR10.

Got a friend doing the 'MP5K as sidearm' thing with a Blackhawk weapon catch.
The K stays put so well that it takes a good tug to draw for him. =p That said, the whole unit does have enough play to flop about on his belt, if that's an issue for you. Don't see why it wouldn't work for the MP9.
With all the pretty flowers and twigs in your ghillie.. perhaps you should take up gardening?

Condor bungee slings are crap. Get one of these:

100% better than the crappy Condor bungee slings (threw mine away after I got the Magpul).

I use the Magpul with all of my M4's (including an SR-10) as well as my WE 416 and KWA MP7.

Magpul slings are meh. Get a MissionSpec IAS (Irene Adaptive Sling).

I've used it with as many platforms I can think of and I've yet to be disappointed.

Andrew at Portland Airsoft Works has been making custom holsters, and that was one he wanted to try. Talk to him at summer slaughter, he could probably do one.

That looks really nice! With the "rapid cinch" option can you shrink it down enough to where it can strap the KMP9 to the back? Also would I be able to attach the "buffer tube sling mount" to integrated fore grip on the KMP9? (if I was to get that version) it would be nice to not have the gun hanging buy one point.

A good idea, but I'd rather stay out of the customizing bit, besides that, I'm really not planning on going to Summer Slaughter this year.
