He aint kidding. This is what we all wore up until recently. Unless you were working the flight deck, damage control, or other specialized jobs you were sporting the groovy "Dungarees" and "Boondockers" (Ankle boots) which I threw in the trash when I was issued flight deck boots.

It always makes me chuckle when I see those bell bottoms with the a$$ pockets on the front. Nothing but love for my non-amphibious brethren, but damn those things were funny.

Every time I see a picture like that, I'm shocked all over again that it took this long to repeal DADT.

OP: I have a couple of replicas of weapons I carried overseas. But I wear gear that I wish I had been able to use rather than the gear I actually wore / carried / swore about.

I.e., I have a SPW'd SAW, just like the one I used in Afghanistan. But my plate carriers / chest rigs / etc. are in FDE rather than ARPAT.

OP: I used whatever is comfortable and effective for AIRSOFT. I do tend to use the weapon systems I'm comfortable with or issued. (M14, M4, M9, M1911)

I also use airsoft to experiment with where I like my pouches at so I can better operate downrange.

Personally I find impersonations funny since all those guys just use what they are comfortable with and what works.
My sword runs at 450 FPS, try to out run that! 35+ Sword/Knife Kills and counting.
