question for military vets about airsoft

Postby Bircher » Thu Jun 30, 2011 3:00 pm

do you try to make your loadout for airsoft look like it did when you were in service? so like MARpat with an m16 or m4? or such loadouts from when you were serving?

Make your loadout whatever you want. Personally I had to wear an interceptor vest. I hatter every bit of it, so no, am not trying to go for that. Wear what works for you and what is comfortable to pack around all day.

I think chesty answered your question as "no" he does not. I know I would not make my loadout what I am issued cause it way to hot and a phony pony to move in.

No. ALICE gear is inferior to what's available now.

No the stuff I have to use would not work well for Airsoft it is all in ICU pattern.

Nope, I've got no interest in wearing an interceptor or PASGT.

Hahaha...I couldn't fit any mags on my flightdeck float coat! :D So the answer is "no" for me.

I'm with you. My cranial helmet would just look downright silly out there! And our goggles were good on deck but would fog in an instant in airsoft.

I would suggest to go with a loadout that is as light as possible, but has everything you need on it. And don't stop there. Constantly modify it to make it suit your needs. and change out parts that dont work when you have the funds to do so. Always search out ways to be more effective. Don't just settle for what you think is cool looking, or follows the current specs.

I would look pretty funny in my utilities running around the woods with bell bottoms and boondockers. So no

Yes and no. I wear my ACU's because frankley, at this point they feel like pajamas to me. I like my PC (cover), and I occasionally wear my kevlar with a NOD mount because I just like the way it looks (Plus I've got my 41st patch on it). And finally, no, because I hated my IBA and my IOTV, I wear a CT plate carrier that I've had for a few years now.

I... I... I'm , uh... ummm... quite flabberghasted!

Befuddled, confounded, and quite frankly I feel like it's a mystery wrapped in a conundrum wrapped in a tortilla and smothered in red sauce.

In other words... Pacman? Bell bottoms?

Is that Freedom Rock man?

(note: I am not a vet. Just a weirdo.)
