DUBAI - A top UAE cop has called for a ban on the import of violent computer games after special forces arrested four masked men 'role-playing' with imitation guns on a villa rooftop, daily newspaper The National reported on Sunday.
The men were dressed in police-like camouflage uniforms and were wearing bulletproof vests as they videoed themselves wielding plastic and metal clubs at a compound near a government building in Abu Dhabi, the paper added.
The newspaper did not state when the incident happened.
Col Ibrahim Sultan Al Zaabi, chief of the city's Al Shaabiya police station, said special forces raided the villa, apprehending the men 'firmly and quickly'.
He told the newspaper the men's behaviour was 'absurd, childish, and unjustifiable', and he blamed an increase in the popularity of violent computer games for a 'culture of violence among children'.
The newspaper said he was now calling for a ban on the import of the games and the sale of fake weapons and firecrackers.
Now I know what they played airsoft in the wrong place and banned video games but... a rooftop villa? :3
