A suggestion to Rick,

Have a tent set up with the guns, ammo and what not separate from the registration area, it was a long line just to register. I agree with Pac-man and we should get rid of the +1 issue, they should sign up for them selves.

I had a great time out there. I had a few gripes that had little to do with the way the game was hosted.

To my entire chain of command, you do not divert people defending something they've just locked down to other projects. We would have owned the log fort all day had 3rd platoon not been tasked to help out in the village. Once the six of us that were left were swept out, they had an even easier angle to hit the village from. I'm completely shocked that we took it back by the end of the day.

Airsoft is not about assault and defense, it's about attrition. People see the enemy, they dig in, and they stop moving. Once this happens you get your guys to bound up slowly and patiently until you have what you're after. The enemy isn't going to rush your line and, in most cases, they're not even going to try and flank you because "it's hard".

Being patient and rolling up slow and hard kills off your hastier enemies, more of your people stay alive, and you utterly own the ground you cover. We exhausted far too many people in the scattered rush to secure the area and desperately needed the reinforcements every time the horn sounded. Being patient and less hasty (read as 'sitting on your a$$') would have allowed us to shut them down all day. We lost people every time they moved up or switched to a new piece of cover.

To the admins, try not to walk straight through the middle of fire and then tell me to be careful where I'm shooting. My BBs were already airborne and several groups of dead players and admins walked right into them.

That being said, I never had trouble with any hacking or poor sportsmanship yesterday. Players stayed excited, on-task, and energized all day and there were some truly tense moments of combat. I had a blast at every LOW game, to be sure.

Thanks all for making it a great first AP event for me. I enjoyed talking to you harper and even when the squad organization went haywire it was still really fun. Also props to whoever found that nokia and rear SCAR-L ironsight. My buddy didn't think he was going to see either again. I'll definitely try to come to REZIV.

Hey squirrel,
You might want to avoid making broad accusations like that.
Calling all of EDG "cheaters" isn't going to win you any friendships.
It just makes you sound like a dickhead.

true that. Many men on that team are great guys that try to fallow the rules and have fun at the same time. Besides its just a game. the way i think of it is just get some shots at them next game. dont let such little things bother you.

To the EDG player I harped on toward the beginning of the game, I apologize. I shouldn't have been that harsh.

I will try to get my detailed game/event review written and posted in the next day or two.

Riddick, thank you for the chance to be of one of admin for this event.

Yeah, sorry about that.

The fort was one of our primary goals as we knew it would split their forces between the two forward sector control points of theirs. We also realized that the city was on raised ground and the natural avenues of approach were all horrible unless they held the log fort.

BUT,
there were no sector control points in the log fort. There were two near the city. Those were the point-makers and ultimately how we won the game. The goal was to push out our forward line of defense to the ridge/hill surrounding the village, as well as the choke point to the West to deny access into the city. With the natural barriers of vegetation to the direct North of the city and the superior position at the choke point to the West, the only two avenues into the city were the flat ground from the log fort and the eastern flank up the hill near point 4.

1st Platoon, 4th Squad (1/4) was tasked with pushing on the road. While we had a whole Platoon focused on taking the log fort, we only had one squad on the road, which meant we were overwhelmed by EDG forces. When 1/4 was pushed back, we had an opening and they started putting troops between the two bodies of 3PLT and 1/4, which meant we had to send troops back to clear them out quickly before they took sector 4 and cut our line of offense in half.

We lost it, yes, but I'd rather have us fighting all day for the log fort then fighting all day to get our sector points back while they accrue points.

I just said EDG because I did not know which guys were still there. The rest of the EGD were honorable opponents, and I always tried to lead my half of the squad in a way so that we could contend with the experienced snipers and marksmen. If I sounded like a dickhead I apologize I said it that way so that I could get my message accross
