Well said, Thoma. I was just going to say it was an article of clothing. It may be one of our military uniforms, but it is still a pair of pants, a blouse, and a hat with some dye in it. To get your panties in a wad over what colors your gang is rocking is needlessly divisive and petty, just like it is with actual gangs and those assholes shoot each other.

My idea of the perfect uniform setup would be:

ABU-based RAID mod cut
4 patterns: Woodland MARPAT, Arid MARPAT, ABU, Navy Blue Digi

Woodland and Arid would be deployed/execise uniforms
ABU for homestation
Navy Blue for at sea

The Marines are great and all, but they fly under the US flag. You know, same team. This is the exact reason why military funding needs to be significantly cut. The branches seem to think they can do immature, unprofessional bs like this. Marines get a globe and anchor, they get a US marines tape, their own ribbons and awards and you would think their higher ups would act like marines instead of like a teenage phony pony griping about shanequa wearing the same dress to homecoming.

It is an absolute waste of money, money that our country doesn't have, to give every branch several different uniforms, many of which are absolutely worthless. I mean hell, the navy has blue cammies? wtf? Each branch should have the same uniforms other than dress. Each branch already has specific tapes for their uniforms.

Of course I remember a time way back when. The Army had Woodland and DCU and the Marines and Air Force had the same thing. I don't understand why everyone has to have their one thing. Especailly now that everyone is talking about budget cuts.

No just no. If you are going for cool factor then sure go for it. If anything the Navy Digi is the most worthless pile of crap ever made. If you fall into the deep blue off the side of a ship due to damage or accident, goodluck finding your skinny butt.

I'm really baffled by why the Marines are so against MARPAT being used by anyone else, we still have a different cover (8 point vs patrol cap) and we roll our sleeves differently, so I figure that is enough to tell us apart.

That and the fact that we don't tack on a bunch of tabs to our uniforms.

Everyone should switch to boonies as well. Im curious if or how the PC or 8 point is superior in anyway to the boonie. Loved my boonie overseas
