Hey look, flashy things!

I don't think this has been put out there before, but while reading some old threads and clicking some links I noticed these.

I remember there was a large liking of them at shot show, and thought I should share them in case they haven't been pointed out yet.

I kind of remember these things from some "Street Survival" seminars. You were supposed to roll them into a darkened room prior to entry sort of like a flash bang. They did not really catch on, I think flash bangs are much more fun/ effective was the reason they never caught on . Strobes lights were tried with some effect too. These things might be OK for airsoft as actual flash bangs are a bit of over kill in this arena.

My team used an ALS trainer bang in a CQC7 scenario. Afterwards I was told by the actors it was the only banger that really worked as intended that was used (including the Thunder B's). I will gladly use it again and again and again (but not a 5th time... those fuses are expensive!).

I think you miss the point. Actual munitions etc...are just too loud to be safely used against non criminal/non combatant people. The things cause hearing damage. Not really what most are looking for when playing air soft.

With the volume that today's youth listens to music, I think a flash bang is the least of their worries...

Thats pretty easy ( and flippant) to say. But after years of exposure to loud noises, things like tinnitus and hearing loss are no fun. Limit your decibel exposure now. I wished that I had when I was in my 20's and onward. I would be plenty pissed if you threw one at me just because you thought they were cool........I have used the real thing.....They ring your bell, thats what they are supposed to do, but the devices are not beneficial to your overall well being.

Damnit, old man, speak up!

Actually, this is one of the most correct things I've read on this forum.

Kids, protect your ears. Otherwise you'll end up like DJ and me. I have one buddy that has constant ringing in one ear that he can trace back to ONE SHOT from a .223 with a funky flash suppressor/recoil reducer where he wasn't wearing ear protection.

Don't ring your bell. And if I ever get confused because you're talking to me and I've got a radio in one ear...it's because I didn't hear you.

Tinnitus sucks. When it really hits, it makes my skull feel like its vibrating.

That's why you use a headset that has built in hearing protection ;)

Or just normal hearing protection with your comms.

Hamster balls are much too small and only come in bags of two.

I'm in favor of bowling balls with Surefire lights stuffed into the finger holes.

Has LE ever thought of using stink bombs, like the ones found in joke stores? Laugh all you want, I'd get out of that room faster than you can say, "Wow that stinks." But then, I'm not an evil murderous fiend.

lets not get it twisted...

BSG dumped 8 total ALS bangers....your team was not the only one jester.

ian tossed one up the stairs and it almost hit josh in the face.... i belive it blew less then 2ft from his head.

According to the actors I talked to, we were the most effective in the club scenario with a flash bang... Not saying you guys didn't use them, but that's what I was told by the actors in the scenario.
