Does this seem okay to buy?

I've been looking at a PEQ box, but none of them had seemed what suited to fit. I found a other forum with a topic on how to get these.

That is a real steel PEQ 15 and unless you have NVGs there is no point to it. And I bet it will end around 1-2k.

Used AN/PEQ-15 by Insight Technology. This is not an airsoft toy.

Also you don't need to spend that much to make it useful, 3k will get you a PVS14 which would be perfect with it

What says you have to only use it for airsoft? Its some legit kit that you could strap to your real gun. Though I don't condone or encourage 14 year olds owning real guns.

You can get Gen3 PVS14s for $2k nowadays. Bucket and mount for $75, maybe.

I know a chap in NY who uses his ANVIS9s for road driving, for a mile at a time (he's not stupid).

Eh.. Side note~ Do real snipers use some sort of PEQ box as well? (On the rifles)
