Is this a general shape of the village area? My memory sucks..

I'd put two small buildings to the South on opposite sides of the middle tree area with a small fenced yard between them.

I'd put a walled compound to the North and to the East with a Mosque to the West

and three smaller buildings possible to thicken the gaps.

Then center it around a meeting area with a possible well

Give your layout maximum flexibility, The Afghan, Iraq thing is hot right now, but this too will pass. Some general purpose type structures with the ability to change the layout will keep it interesting long after the Afghan thing is history. Good hiding places, cover, opposing lanes of fire, vehicles that can be towed around to mix it up, shrubbery, trees, old postal boxes, light standards, pretty much the sky is the limit. I personally like some elevated positions which allow for sniping / counter sniping operations . Google MOUT , hogans alley etc... to give yourselves some ideas.

Keep the layout uncluttered ( for your own liability) that is without a lot of hazards. I have been to several air soft / paintball operations that had so many opportunities to get injured that it would send shivers of delight down the spines of tort attorneys and send insurance underwriter's screaming into the night. protect yourself too!

Think long term, this is your property, make it something that you are not going to hate 5 years from now and have to go rent a bulldozer to correct.

When I'm doing room clearing I don't care if its a mosque , a KKK compound or a convent with a thousand nuns and orphans. The building is irrelevant, the tactics are what is important. Do this properly and you may attract some others like say LE or military. You might want to get some input from your county Sheriffs office and the largest municipal police dept in your area to see what they would like. I'm not sure of your proximity to Rilea, that may be a good source too.
You have a great opportunity to make something cool and potentially profitable.

One other issue is zoning. any permanent structures will cause issues with the county. I know the guys at "the farm" had to deal with Multnomah co. on some stuff. Hopefully you are not in that county. Clatsop?

What kind of a budget do you have?, access to equipment? backhoes etc.... I would love to help you with this... keep us posted

I really have to agree with DJ on this one. GP is the way to go. Just having a decent amount of workable buildings is fantastic. The Army gets away with using cargo conatiners stacked up on each other.

I'd pitch in for some work. Hell, with the reality of this happening, I'm sure there's plenty of people that would volunteer. I bet if you set a weekend date you'd get a decent handful of help.

BTW, did you manage to get that ambulance?

Dunno if you have any, but if you've got a bamboo patch that stuff is great wall building material.

I'd start checking out the free section of CL for some stuff too. You can always find doors and stuff there, maybe some good randomness. Like this!

OR, CHECK IT OUT!!! A FREE MOBILE HOME!!! HOLUS MOLUS!!

Nay, nay, stay away from the free mobile home. a train wreck looking for a place to happen!

Meth won't come out of the walls.

Also, here's the layout of Rilea. The inner roads are all pretty much gone.

DJ, We have a back hoe, our bulldozer is down right now, and we have a farm tractor. I own a construction company so we have the usual nail guns and all of those tools.

We would welcome all the help that we can get. Our brick making machine is not done yet, but once it is done we will stock pile brick and make a day of building the village.

Wisenheimer, No free mobile homes, too much to get rid of afterwords, and no I did not get the Dodge ambulance, I low balled him too much.

DJ, We are in Washington county. the buildings will all be under 10x20. The county considers that size as a temporary outbuilding. So no permits are needed.
