well, i can bet you'd get things like "make sure the land is flat". Pick a place that doesnt make marpat useless, haha. Plus on flatter land, building sheds and buildings would be a lot easier. Make sure it's off the beaten path for safety reasons

How far away would you be willing to purchas land? SW washington has been needing a play field since ABT closed.

Some place in Damascus would be nice, (not where I live) The land out there is really nice. Not really flat but it has some good length, natural obstacles and some outcrops.

This. The 'couve has been without a reasonably close field for quite a while now.

Scappoose/st helens area. Near the highway, with hills, big timber, and a flat area for a town and buildings.

I'm gonna hate a bit here, 20 yrs old? You do realize that a 20+ acre chunk of land will cost a good amount of change? Credit? Unless of course you got an inheritance or something like that.

But i would put it near the portland metro area, more customers, better chance of getting a larger base with games every weekend. Put it too far out, not many will travel 1hr + for a quick day game.

my $0.025 cents :)

Definitely a nice idea. I prefer places that look realistic. Like, if a field was used as a farm and then abandoned. Streams, sheds, fences, trees, etc. Flat land is good, and easier to build on, like Patrick said.

Have fun with your project.

Edit: I agree with Rbm, in the Portland area would be nice. Being 16 without a job, I need to conserve my gas. A close field in the Portland Metro area would make me a happy camper.

Might wanna be polite if you are asking for advice . . . AP doesn't troll honest questions that badly.

That said, I think that a good field should have a mix of flat and uneven territory. Flat territory gives people who like that terrain their place, and uneven terrain will make for better battles, defensively.

Good fields need a good mix of terrain - clear and difficult.

Also, improvements are necessary. Almost every popular (read: event attracting) field I have seen had a solid little plywood town to fight in. Personally, I like trenches and other fighting positions a lot too, but there are insurance risks involved.

How much money do you have to blow on an airsoft field?

That's the first thing I thought. Plus, won't you need insurance if you plan on letting us run around on it? :D

Top Priorities:

1. Close (within 2hr of Portland)
2. Realistic (farm, place with trenches and ditches to hide in, not just trees)
3. A place to camp that WON'T get swamped...
4. (this is really up to event organizers, but) cool gameplay. Either really intense TDM or scenarios.
5. Porta-Heads or designated latrine areas
6. Nothing that is caked in paint
7. Buildings. Lots of buildings that are varied in every aspect (location, size, layout, usefulness, distance apart from other buildings)

Best of Luck!

I'm not bleeding with you or being a smartass.
This is sincere.

I don't take you seriously.

I seriously doubt that at 20 years old, you have the money to piss away on land for airsoft.
If you have money, that's exactly what it would be.. Pissing it away.
You won't see anything that remotely resembles a profit from this "business venture."

If you don't know what location and type of land would work well for this "business venture" then I seriously suggest you abandon the idea altogether.

If you did put this together, I would come out and enjoy it. At least until it failed.
You simply can't get rich at airsoft.

If you've got crazy money and don't need to see a return then hells yeah. Party on.

I'll be glad to eat my words.

Damn nice sniper veil you have there! Well done.

I wish you the best with your business venture. The main advice I can give is be sure to have adequate insurance coverage for the type of activities you're willing to run and be sure to have both, an expense & profit plan brainstormed before jumping into it.

Dude, you have no clue what your doing. If you don't know what this airsoft community likes.in a field, you are going to waste someone else's money, your too young to have that kind of cheese. It is retarded to think that a 20 y/o has the time or.money ro make a field work. It requires constant up keep and money for structures, time to build the structures, insurance ......I could go on.

You already have a strike against you for coming off as a a$$ clown, seriously if you want legit feedback in the future don't automatically assume everyone's going to shazaam with you. Second I know of no Marine recruits that have the scratch to build the be all end all field unless your a trust fund recipient with money to burn. Lastly I would love to be a fly on the wall the first time you use the term "Semper kill" to a D.I.
