How to tactical-ize a helmet on the cheap

Postby shakespeare » Sun May 29, 2011 12:29 pm

So I recently came into possession of a replica MICH. It already looks cool, with velcro and stuff, but I think it would be cool to add stuff like an NVG mount, rails, a strobe light, or something similar. What have you guys seen that is cheap? It wouldn't have to be functional, just cool looking.
Also, there are 3 holes drilled for an NVG mount. Not sure if that matters.

Ebairsoft has three hole Norotos Replicas for about 20 bucks.(Free shipping) You can get a real strobe or a G&P replica strobe bb loader. (I went with the bb loader, as I'd use that more than a real strobe)

Edit: Goggle retention straps (rabbit ears) are always cool.

I've found the NV mount and a replica strobe.
Does anyone have links for the side rails? They aren't vital, but for future reference in case I get a helmet cam, which I've been considering).
I already have the rabbit ears, thank you.

Also, do operators (generic term...just special operations in general) normally paint their helmets OD, tan, or camouflage?

Sweet deal, I will probably just leave as is then, it's green. And thank you for the link.
What sort of light would be used? like, would it be commonplace to just put a headlamp on the helmet, or a surefire on a rail, or what?

Ditch the replica MS2000 strobe. FInd a real one on ebay. I got a set of 2 for $74.

I'll keep it in mind, but honestly, loading BB's helps me more than a strobe would :/

So you're ok with getting shot from the 105mm cannon on the circling AC-130 gunship? Guess that's personal choice...

Unless at least one person on the other team has NODs. ;)

At the OP, get a Wilcox mount. It's not something you usually see on an airsofter's MICH.

Psh, no, I'm talking about the triangle mounts. The old style L2G05s that you always see on airsoft IBHs.
