Pith Helmets

Postby Wisenheimer » Sun May 29, 2011 9:12 am

Does any military still use a pith helmet? I use one for hiking and in my garden where I have to drive my lawn tractor through tree branches. It's super light and very cool in hot conditions, and perfect for oh so many things. Plus, it makes me look like a Japanese gardener. They have camo pith helmets at A&B, I almost bought one to set the new trend. Because that's my prediction for new helmet trend, pith. Seriously though, I would totally use it for airsoft. Maybe I will.

It'd be pretty sweet to see someone running around in one. Probably wouldn't use one myself though.

How much do they cost? It would be cool to make a good pad system or suspension in it to make it steady on your head.

It has a inner suspension system already. Basically just a velcro sizing strap, but it doesn't really move. A chin strap would keep it from going anywhere.

You may see me wearing one. I've had mine for like 20 years, and it was $15 back then.

Quick search... $20
