You're a little ways from me so my team would likely not travel that far every weekend but if you hosted a decent sized war we would probably take that trip.
Define large size?
Yeah Blacksunshine, 1st Sword regularly puts on 100+ person events.
I'm just going off of the last year 8 months or so. And there have been no large "regular" events going on. Not on the scale that you guys down that way have.
I'd say a "Large" event would be 100+ at least. Those up this way are few and far between.
I'm not located in Oregon, I'm located in Eastern WA. "Large" for me is 50 people.
Unless I'm wrong (Todd can correct me if I am), every single one of 1st Sword's events in the last 8 months have had over 50 people, with most of them getting closer to the 100 mark than the 50. Also, 1st Sword puts on events more frequently than AP, albeit they are smaller.
Which brings me a very important truth; Quantity of people =/= Quality of event.
I do agree that quality of players far out weighs quantity.
If I were going to rally my group to drive hours to a game I doubt it would be for a small weekend skirmish or a 100 person force on force clusterfuck.
But rather an organized event with objective based games. Maybe that's what I should have said rather then a "large" war. But then, well organized wars/operations do tend to draw a larger crowd.
