I think he's asking about the rig, not about LEOs response to an AS.

I've heard they are good light weight rigs, but you can't really change it around to suit your needs. If thats a non issue then go for it.

Yea, the kit he was asking about is a plain old chest rig and it's just called an "active shooter" kit for whatever reason. Anyway, looks like a good rig. Nuff said.

The deign philosophy behind an "active shooter" kit is a chunk of gear already prepped to deal specifically with an active shooter scenario. Basically, you pull it out of the trunk and go.

Since the thing is going to spend 99% of it's time sitting in the trunk of a patrol car, it doesn't have to be as comfortable as something worn daily. And since the amount of stuff that a patrol officer is going to use in an active shooter scenario is pretty limited, there isn't a ton of customization. Or any, really. They tend to be, basically, "good enough" to get the job done.

If you have one loadout you are planning on running for the rest of the useful life of the vest, and it has no more or less pouches than you envision needing, and you fit inside the minimum / maximum range of size adjustment, then they aren't terrible.

It's not really an "Active shooter" chest rig. They just called it that. It's a copy of the LBT 1961.

What Catch22 said...

I have owned several LBT 1961 as well as the Eagle Version (MPCR or something like that) and as much as I have wanted to love the thing I just cant.
The magazine pouches are terrible, the GP pouches are sized perfect for 100rd SAW boxes (were made for a 5590 battery) which means they dont fit anything else super well and the radio pouches are way to tall for a civilian radio.

I also have an aversion to anything like that which is not split front, but thats personal preference.

Blender, you might check out the Pantac M4 Chest rig as well. Airsoft Outlet NW has them, and they're similar to the one you posted, but with better side pouches (in my opinion). It's a little less, too.
