I started out as infantry, went air cav, got attached to an sf unit and did all my classes. Now I'm an operator, and instructor.

It's not like history is a secret.

Dude just be upfront - are you SF QUALIFIED? Do you wear a tab? Or are you support? Just give us your MOS - that is not some super secret squirrel shit.

At first you make it seem like you are SF qualified - but now it seems like you are attached to a unit.
Being attached to an SF unit does not make you an "operator"

It's fine, every airsoft forum has people that are, were, or claim to me in the service.

I figure since there is a huge amount of people that claim to be in the service, if I get grilled for a few weeks then thats fine.

I hate seeing people claim that they were in the military when you can pretty much tell they weren't. But as I said before, airsoft has loads of people (mostly around 16-25) that claim they are service members.

I will put my INF certificate on here if nobody has no problem with me blacking out all of my first name, and my grad date.

I do missions, I train with the team, I am the only 11B on a team.

CPT said I am an operator, just not a Green cap.

If your MOS does not start with 18, you are not Special Forces. No matter what your Captain told you.

Its pretty simple.

I understand that, but it is all a grey area. So if it was you how would you classify yourself?

Well you know what, I don't lie to people, I wish every day I never would have had lasic, I have done my job, I put in my time.

And if you think you can call me a bleeding washout, you have another thing coming.

An operator is not a special forces soldier. It's a term that Special Forces, contractors and a whole bunch of "bros" who wear 5.11 gear use.

But if you're a Specialist, you aren't running a team that trains anybody. If you're 21 you aren't in group coming home after an Afghan deployment (unless you got in with a waiver at 17 with a high school that offers college credits and you leave with an associates degree and were a boyscout that somehow got to the rank of E4/Specialist, then went straight to SF on a contract and then right to a unit mid deployment or about to leave and they actually took you, then got home and made an account on AP).

To everyone else: Anybody can call themselves an operator. It's not really a military term and I'd find more respect from someone calling themselves a soldier/airman/marine.

And Special Forces does a lot of stuff. They have a lot of support elements that aren't SF qualified that still wear the green beret. They have a lot of units and items attached to them. But they should be noting that they are special forces support and not qualified if they go somewhere and speak.

Beyond the fact that you're trying to sound a lot cooler than you are, welcome!

You can get into the selection process after having eye surgery.

Snake Eyes is going through the whole process right now. Ask him.

Now that I read it I see what your talking about, I missed a comma. Dear god eveveryone, I missed a comma! I must be a non-english speaking fake!

How do you even get to that conclusion? I mean really, how does "That=This"

And if you don't want to pay for it, the Army is giving it to SF personnel. Free. And SF has priority on surgery slots at MTFs.

Word of advice: Be proud of whatever service you have provided. Don't claim what you can't back up.

Funny thing is, when I offer to vouch with paperwork, the first thing that comes to mind is my CAB packet. Then my eval from overseas. Not my MOS award document. Makes me wonder if your only high-speed award is an 11B certificate.
