I doubt it will pass. Still, these "laws" should not effect what you do on private land as long as you are out of public view (Example: no orange tips even though it's a federal law to have them) If your not being a dumbass while transporting airsoft guns off private land you should be OK.

doubt it or not we do not want to see this issue pop up every 6 years. its annoying and it takes up government resources.
SB798 is only one more vote away to being signed into law next year so please take action!

Skyhawk, the orange tips are for importation. It's not against the law to have them off of your replica.

Maybe. But it will make it a lot harder to buy realistic guns...

It's going to pass. Grass Root campaigns such as what they have been asking the community to do seldom helps.

What i am suprised at is that the distributors and manufacturers have not been paying a lobbyist to get in there and plant our voices into their heads. They have more to lose than we do.

Be ready for orange and green guns. Myself I would prefer clear. Worst case we just spray paint our guns black.

I fully expect to see airsoft prices increase for the pre-bill models.

Well if it passes it kinda is. It's one more step down the slippery slope of airsoft restrictions in the USA.

If it stays isolated to CA than the reprocussions would be less variety of online / phisical stores to get real looking AS guns. I'm sure buying here or at other online stores outside of CA would still be possible.

Even if you don't care what your gun looks like, how long until FPS restrictions go into place? You never know. Which is why I am signing several petitions / Letters (Even though I'm doubtful that it will pass)

My favorite Airsoft gun has a nice, tough anodized coating on it. I don't think I can do that with spray paint...... :(

Who would have thought those Hot Pink M4's would become an overnight craze?

I get that its not cool, but its not hindering the hobby any. I don't see a problem in this at all.

It won't really hinder it, but prices will go up and model variation will go down. Airsoft's popularity will also go down, considering the Mil-sim aspect of airsoft is about to be flushed strait down the plumber.

On the upside, we won't have COD noobs who just want the "COD M4 bling" or whatever it is they want. It will be orange, making them buy Nerf instead.
I also see the spraypaint industry benefiting...

I honestly think that isn't a bad idea either, but this isn't nearly as complex as the UK's law is. (the colors are mandatory for all ages)...

The worst part is that we are going to be required to have bright colors in conjunction with orange tips. Along those lines, from what I've heard the bill also makes it illegal to remove the orange tip/bright coloration, so it is not longer just for importation, which would really blow.

Just one more reason for me not to move back to California.

I'm just waiting for someone to shoot a cop with a green firearm. Or for another kid to get shot even though he has an orange AEG.
I DID NOT INVENT THE INTERNETS FOR THIS
