Half-and-half sarcasm. Pretty much bitter sweet irony for the people of California

I love how the opinions of this thread on California are mostly from non voting age people....and for the record the current Gov is Jerry Brown, not Arnold way to keep up.

So, if criminals do this already (painting real guns to make them look fake) what is to stop them from doing this now. Nothing.

This was a political manover. When a kid dies, if you dont pass some law to make it look like your helping out society or some one doesn't get arrested, you are not going to get re-elected. This is all politics. Its all stupid.

Frankly, the only 100% solution to making sure a kid doesn't get shot because he has a fake gun is to get rid of fake guns all together. We know thats not going to happen though, so for the time being lets all jsut be happy we can still airsoft and in 10 years when it gets cancelled switch to milsim pant ball or "battle field live"

Here is the link. This was actually soooo much fun. Really wish these games were still around.

They better start making rubber knives bright pink too.

California is incredibly stupid. One of my first jobs was at a gun store in LA back when they first banned assault rifles. They had this list, this incredibly lame and ignorant list, that they made into law. For instance, you could not own a Calico carbine rifle, apparently because it's just so damn powerful with it's 50 or 100 round magazine. However, you can have the pistol version that takes the same mags.

Makes perfect sense, doesn't it?

BTW I was born in LA, lived there for 31 years. I hate going there because everyone is an asshole. The tension is palpable. I describe it as the tension you feel during the time between where the pin is pulled, and the grenade goes off.
Well, the pin has been pulled and it's just a matter of time. But in the meantime, you can certainly feel it in the air. I hate that place. Except for Mario's Delicatessen in Glendale. The litmus test for the Italian Deli.

The one thing I miss about california is the food. Not the "mexican" crap that is served up here, or the shitty italian. I lived in california for over 18 years. When I lived there though, the big thing they wanted to do to fix the budget was split the state into 2 different states. Incredibly stupid. I would love to have a big a$$ plate of calamari, followed by bathtub cheese enchiladas. Oh, and how I miss the parking lot tamales. Buy a dozen for a buck, and freeze them. Made excellent snacks. Now I am hungry. Two things california does right... food, and all the fat chicks live in the foothills.
She said I raped her? Well, where there is a Will there is a way. But just remember, if it wasn't Lil, it wasn't Wil.

So true, even with "the best food trucks in the world", I have only been to maybe 3 places that were REAL Mexican food. And they aren't trucks.

I miss the 2am drunken red tacos of death.

You know I agree with this one....but only to a point and that point is without a seat belt you have a decent chance of becoming a missile that can kill other people when you fly through the wind shield and smack dab into someone else killing them.

By that logic i could sneeze, causing a chain reaction, and cause tsunamis in japan. So therefore, sneezing should be illegal.

When will California learn, that you can't cure stupid. This law that isn't going to help at all. Anyone who buys an airsoft gun doesn't want it to be bright pink or any other color. People are just going to spray paint or sharpie them black later. And the cops will still treat them as real firearms.... whoknows a criminal could of colored a real firearm. This law doesn't do jack shit.

I haven't read all of the replies, there being six pages and me not having that amount of time, so excuse my ignorance.

I've got a question: will this actually pass? I mean, there can't be that many stupid people in California, right? And it is California. They are notoriously liberal. Anyway, this is a Northwest forum, so I assume that none of us are affected by this proposed legislation.

Don't assume we aren't effected. The majority of the nations largest retailers are based out of California. The majority of Airsoft products are also imported into California. If those retailers were to have to close their business because of this law -- the demand for Airsoft guns from overseas would plummet. Prices would be jacked up as a result. It effects everyone.

I don't think that's how economics works. If demand plummets, then there's a surplus of product, leading to prices falling for the rest of us.

Correct me if I'm wrong though, please.
