A new field?

Postby spankie » Wed Apr 20, 2011 9:21 am

Hi I'm Spankie from W.H.A.T.
Many of you probably don't know about me because I've only been to like 6 events on AP and like 5 of them were at ABT before the closure. The other one was at the scappoose field when it was all snowy in 2011 and then we went to dairy queen to "oogle bitches".

Anyways my team and I have been thinking/trying to host public airsoft events for a while; however, we didn't have any fields to host these on. However reccently we found a field to do this on and we have received permission from the property owner. It even has a great parking spot nearby the field.

The field is located nearby the city of winlock, WA. Winlock, WA is only like 30 street miles away from rainier, oregon; 75 miles away from portland, oregon; and 60 miles away from scappoose, oregon (these are just some reference points).

We'll release an official address when we host our first event.
We'll also be doing some minor maintenance/taking pictures to up here this weekened.
We'll also be drafting up some waivers with the property owner in the near future.
I'm a family friend of the property owner and his family.

Sounds good, take lots of pictures. Makes sure that people who play there clean up their messes and pick up their trash. That's the number 1 complaint for "family friends" who allow fields to be used, people leaving trash. I had to clean up my Cousin's 80 acre property after every game, despite drilling it into the heads of every player to take their trash with them when they leave. Treat it well, post lots of pictures, hopefully it'll be a fun field.

Part of the field was used as a paintball play area and there is a bit of manmade cover in that section of the field. As for the rest of the field... well... thats why we are doing some maintenance this weekend.

We plan on getting some sector control poles set up, setting up some flags for CTF, and making the dense forest areas a little more clearer. As well as taking pics of the field.

Sounds interesting. Make sure to post this on the tac forums when you post pics.

Isn't this the TAC airsoft forums?
http://www.tacomaairsoft.com/
or did they get a new forum url?

I tried registering like on 2 separate occassions on the url above and my account was never approved. I even checked my email like once a day for a week on both occassions. So I just kinda gave up on those forums.

If I could get a forum account on the tac forums though, I'd definitely post pics. I'll guess I'll give it a 3rd shot.

If you don't get an email, PM League 4 on here. He's a mod on TAC.

Alright I registered and got an email and posted an introduction topic. Now I can post the pics of the field on AP and TAC when I take them this weekend.

Looks good. Only question is regarding the elevation changes; how flat is it?

A good portion of it is flat but there is some incline trails....

8) Just remember to try not to sing "Im on a boat" while in the middle of an airsoft battle.

I know all the lyrics to the Love Boat theme. :gaypride:

I think I'd go more pirate-y though... something like this...

"Yo, ho! Yo, ho! A perverts life for me!
Come over here little girl, and reach into my jeans!
Now you've got my tootsie roll, and them's me jelly beans!
Yo, ho! Yo, ho! A perverts life for me!"

Or something to that effect.

Sorry for not posting some updates reccently. Just been working on some school work over these past couple of weeks. I will be getting with my friend to try and organize some stuff with this field soon, as soon as school work is out of the way.

Field looks decent. Might have to head up there if you get an event going.
