CAG May Training 5/21-5/22

Postby Darius137 » Mon Mar 07, 2011 7:14 pm

Cascadian Airsoft Group (CAG) has a 1-2 day training event every month, focusing on military and infantry-based training for airsofters interested in mil-sim and keeping up on perishable skills. It's also very new player friendly, so if you've never come out, post here if you need to borrow some gear and meet some people from the community. Teams are also welcome to come as CAG is more of a league of squads than one large team at these trainings.

DATE: May 21st, Saturday to May 22nd, Sunday.
TIME: 0900 21MAY - 1630 22MAY
LOCATION: Camp R&R
61635 NW Agaard Rd
Gales Creek, OR
http://www.camprandr.com/
COST: $5 Donation
Camp R & R runs on donations and we recommend a minimum of $5, though you can do more if you'd like. Camp R & R has airsoft insurance as well as working toilets and showers with separate ones for men and women. There will be snacks for sale on site as well and their beef jerky is pretty incredible.
ITINERARY: We will cover the following topics:
Final preparations for Lord of War 3 in June
    -Squads working together
    -Squad on Squad combat
    -How to hold a position
-Separate training for new players to get the basics down
-Camping + campfire. Bring wood and food to grill up.

This is a perfect training for players interested in airsoft who haven't done much airsoft or military training and want a review of the basics. Also it's a good airsoft training for those who are showing up for the Mehdi side for Lord of War 3 on June 18th.

Waivers will be on site.

We started seeing people post events on the same weekends that we were doing stuff.

Even though we host these for our guys to train, we make them open to anybody on AP, so we're just putting a few months out in advance.

I'll get the 24 hour game details and ALC course up probably in a week or two.

Date is the same, but we're switching up the venue and reason for training.

Initially we were working towards a 24 hour game in July or June. But we've since pushed it back to August and now June is Lord of War 3, so we'll be using this training to practice last minute stuff involving us playing as a large group at non-CAG trainings such as LOW3.

This will still be new player friendly and we'll be taking new players aside and training them up in some basics of airsoft (how to shoot, move, communicate, not hide 20ft behind the battle behind a tree only to shoot their reinforcements as they run past them to the actual fight, etc.)

We'll have plenty of skirmish time both days, but it is a training event with an end goal of personal improvement as the hope.

The SQUAD part threw me off... so this is consisting of 1/1 and 1/3 or something of the sort? Can't it just be 1/1/A vs. all?
Please, I insist.

The 1-A here refers to the numbering system in the army handbook. Drill 1-A in the handbook is squad assault. So we will be practicing attacking things as a squad, probably against each other.
