What headset for a Midland?

Postby shakespeare » Wed Apr 13, 2011 7:05 pm

For a while I've been looking around and trying to find a good headset for a radio. I will soon be acquiring a new midland because I seem to have misplaced my other ones. I've always liked the idea of one of the tactical headsets I see in pictures, but whenever I find one they seem to not work with midlands. What headsets do you use for your midland radios? In addition, I found the below headset from midland, how would it work with a MICH helmet?

You don't have to get a headset that specifically for Midland radios. You can get the cool, fancy a$$ headset, but you will need a PTT that is for Midland radios. And I believe Midland radios use two-pin PTT's like ICOMS and Cobra ETC's. Some one please correct me if I'm wrong.

Some of the ICOM 2 pin PTT's don't function properly in Midlands, but usually do work with Cobra 2 pin radios.

I use a Devgru Frogman Field Headset headset with my Midland radio.

This Midland brand headset is also a good choice. I used them a while back before moving on to the more expensive choices. For the price, you get a darn good set-up, actually....

I agree... I currently use the Midland TH2 and it works well. A bit spendy, check Ebay

She said I raped her? Well, where there is a Will there is a way. But just remember, if it wasn't Lil, it wasn't Wil.

Catch22, how well does the Frogman headset hold up? I've heard good things about them, so I think I should consider it.
Thanks everyone!

I've had mine for about 3 or 4 years. It's still in great condition and I've never had any problems with it.
