I MIGHT be down, depending on rides/scheduling. Probably no camping, though.

McNeil?

It's pretty close to McNeil campgrounds, yes. Probably within 10 miles.

The Sandy river runs along the Northern perimeter, varied terrain from deep woods to clear cuts with downed timber, some dense, some open, the ground is covered with moss to a great extent, some swampy area, elevated terrain , all with an awesome Mt Hood view. easier to traverse than Scapoose. Probably my favorite place so far.

Not to mention.....JOE'S DOUGHNUTS on the way!

Dan, I'll see what I can do to make it Saturday. It's been pretty tight around HRO since we lost one of our guys to cancer, so it just depends on how the schedules are looking. I would like to get your frequencies from you, regardless, so I can at least do some listening, propagation permitting.

It is common knowledge.

You really think our little handhelds would reach you in Tigard?

Also, since I got my callsign I need to buy a radio, what times are you around at the HRO so that I can come in and talk through my options?

I'll be sure to be out there on Saturday, but I can't do Sunday.

Also, If anyone needs a ride out there from Beaverton, I will be able to take two people with me, as long as you subsidize 10$ in gas money, since it's such a long trip

I've posted it up as a facebook event using the CAG facebook thingamabob:

http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=191444804231427

This is a big field, and we'll be testing out our HAM net, so if you can get HAM qualified by then, we'll have loaner HAM radios there at the TOC.

The weekend will consist of a lot of squad on squad patrolling using HAM command net and USGS maps with 8 digit grids.

Thanks for the PM on this Darius!

I'll definately look into coming. I know I can't be there on the second day, but maybe the first day. I've always avoided trainings but I guess this is free so I may be down!
Sounds like a totally pimp location.

If you could advise and/or link what waiver(s) are required that'd be groovy. By waivers on site, that means at the area, not available on your website yes?
Cuz I find it highly unlikely that one of my parental units would be willing to traverse there with me just to sign/notarize a disclaimer for me. I'm 17.5 yrs old.

I've always liked communicating via radio, is it tough to get HAM certified?

Beaverton, which is on the North-West side of Portland. I'll be driving out Sunday only, but I will be able to provide rides back for those who are camping.
