Thanks for hosting Ka-bar and for all the admins for coming out. Too bad only 3 of the 9 snipers showed. Next time please leave a post if you are not going to show.

Regardless, thanks to the pros for all the tips and for the woodcraft practice.

That was fun. A smaller group, but those that were there were there for the right reasons and used the time as a training opportunity.

I'll be there any time you set it up Morgan. It was worth the time...and shitty weather is a great way to break in a suit.

i really appreciate those that came.

this was the first iteration on something i am trying to build, and as high as my expectations were, i was glad for those that did show out.

big shout out to Jermy for stepping up and observing and offering up some real word knowledge.

thank you to Bill and Vaugh. your suits are very well put together pieces of kit. definately for those that start out, you are ones to be aspired to. thank you for your support.

also shout outs to my admins. thanks for comming, i am sorry the player / admin ratio was a lil out of wack.

it is my hope that future ghilleman events will get more intrest. baby steps.

once again thanks to all that came out and supported this endevor.

phiz wins the bolt action build off, by default. here is his build.

JG Bar 10
Phiz

Zero trigger and piston
I don’t care for the trigger much. It is smooth in operation but has failed, a spring broke, and it didn’t return the piston sears to catch the bolt pull reliably. It is not easy to work on and is needlessly difficult to remove from the bolt.

Spring
I leave the Layax M170 spring compressed for a few days prior to the event since I run with the spring compressed all day. Less FPS but better consistency during the day.

Hop Up
Tokyo Marui precision hop up unit. There is no slack side to side in the hop arm, no need for shimming. I’m using the stock TM bucking. I also tried a king arms bucking but found the stock bucking to be more consistent.

Barrel
6.01 TBB barrel from Airsoft GI, basic steel.

Other
Madbull .40 gram, steel spring guide, stock cylinder head.

Build
Teflon tape seal of the rubber to the barrel. Sound damping foam throughout the hollow sections. Polished cylinder and cylinder head.

the platform shoots a little inconsistant still but overall its a great build and well worth his time and effort. grats to phiz for building a precision bolt action.

i changed the way we ran today and just had Jermy Observe and send chief out walking hunting down the crawlers. Jermy coached people on what the indicators were and why they got busted and sent them packing back to the start to do it again.

Bill got the closest undetected, bu had nothing but rocks to throw, so he gave up after getting withing tossing distance of the target and not being spotted. as bill walked in i tried to use him as a distraction and my rifle was tucked too far under my body... and the damn strap stuck on a branch, so i skooted just a little too much...."SNIPER FREEZE!"...i just held up a middle finger at jermy. i was just going to take my shot.

over all i had a fun day....and hey....we didnt even playth egame format that i had planned....

so, next ghilleman.... maybe we can all try again.

stay tuned

KA-BAR out.

Had a really good time - I look forward to anytime I can put on the ghillie and play in the mud. Thanks for organizing this Morgan.

In the future we'll try to get solid commitments from more players. Even with such a small group it was still enjoyable.

....also, would like to point out that Chief came out just to stand in the rain and be told where to go to bust the unsavory sniper-kind! That is dedication to supporting unique events.

and....PICS! or it didn't happen! :]

It was my pleasure KA-BAR! More than willing to help out again. I learned a lot from the event. I can foresee stalking in my future.
