Night Vision for Camera Mount

Postby Matt » Wed Feb 23, 2011 2:50 pm

I'm wondering if anybody might have some suggestions for cheap and effective night vision to mount on the front of a camera.

I saw this optic mentioned on a few video forums, apparently it comes with adapters for 35mm SLR cameras and camcorders.

I haven't shopped much night vision so I have no idea if that's a good deal or a crap deal. Any ideas?

I would avoid it as it is magnified (and yes, I know you can change out the lense to 1x but that just means more $$$).

I've actually heard very good about the D-112 and NightopticsUSA in general, as it's apparently the choice among us NV enthusiasts for an affordable NV with loads of stuff with it. Next thing is a Yukon, which are really good.

If you do end up configuring some kind of lowpro camera mount or helmet mount, please post a quick write up of how you like it. I've been looking at NV for some time but I've never had the guts to take the plunge.

bump and edit, yeah im pathetic.

You can buy the D-112 with just the standard lense, and buy the magnifier separate.
