RAID Modifying BDU's

Discussion of load-bearing equipment, tactical gear, holsters, BDUs, and other gear related to Airsoft.

Get used ones. They are everywhere and cheap. A&B has crap for BDUs. Are you doing the SEALs loadout with us for the BSP impression game Tombstone?

I'm going to check out GoodWill today, see if I can find some in my size. A&B has made me rage for the last time.

I am not doing a SEALs loadout (can't afford the battle rattle), these are going to be for my own personal use, and to be used when I'm running as a single operator.

Thanks for the Velcro link and the RAID instructions, Rico. Since I don't have a sewing machine I'll be doing this all by hand.

Tried to push the needle through the BDU fabric today, and it went through my finger instead...I think I'm using the wrong needle O_o

Did you have the needle backwards?

Remember, pointy end into the fabric, holey end into the finger...

The line represents the fabric. The smiley face represents the finger (hahahah get it? THE FINGER!).

Same thing happens to me, Abe. I bought a thimble.

I use a piece of duct tape with a chunk of sheet metal in it. The tape gives me grip while the metal gives me "safety".

I just don't stab myself. :P

That said, I'm terrible at sewing stuff, so I'll probably talk to Chau about getting some BDUs RAID modded (M81s and DCUs for a PJ impression).

Sow the velcro on the pockets, before you so them onto the sleeves.
