Quick RRV Question

Postby -Shifty- » Tue Feb 08, 2011 7:36 pm

I had a quick RRV question. Do these fit better with a SAPI plate in, or does it matter? I know plate carriers fit much better with the plates, but the I wasn't sure if the RRV would be different. Thanks for any help, and once I get a good answer, this thread can be deleted.

I'm fairly skinny (5'8", 145lbs) so do you think a plate would help fill it out better?

Shifty, I'm the same size as you and I wear the Condor RRV. I have an armor plate in mine, and I did feel like it fit better with it inserted.

A lot of it depends on if you wear the bib up or down. I wear it down, and have never worn it with a SAPI plate and its fine.
Its a chest rig.

I'm shrimpy, like shifty. I literally tightened the back-strap to about 4 inches long, and with the plate, it fits. Without the plate, I'm not sure I could make it small enough.

Okay Commie thats good to know. I like what Nasty said about using soft armor, but I don't want to pay for it, or deal with the extra straps, so it sounds like a plate would be the way to go. Thanks
