Umm...not to create an argument but concealable pistols are definitely practical for air-soft events and MIL-SIM. In fact, they are ideal for it. Pistols are not always placed in thigh rigs and bulky holsters (the exception being in a CQB environment..etc).
Compact pistols are used quite a bit in woodland or field type environments where the pistol is simply placed in an envelope holster stuffed into the chest rig or carriers. This allows the user to still have a back-up weapon but placed off of the leg for better mobility..etc.
Anyway..back on subject...
Even if the user has larger hands..etc the user simply adjusts the way he/she utilizes a compact pistol. My hands are slightly big so using my Western Arms 4013 TSW certainly is a little different but if some changes are made with various holding positions, it works out fine. Especially in a two-handed grip configuration..it works fine.
Re; keeping the FPS down to event rules or CQB..the WA S&W 4013 TSW fires around 300 + with .20's...so you'd be good to go.
