Just looking for some opinions, good or bad about KWA's mark1 through 4 M1911's. Thanks!

Short answer: good.

I have a Mk. IV and it shoots better out of the box then my upgraded WE 1911's do.

The only issue I've had with the Mk. IV is that it doesn't lock cleanly into my Serpa holster, as the WE 1911's do.

I have the MK II in tan. Damn good gun, fits perfectly into my Serpa as well. My friend has the MK IV and we tried it in the Serpa to see if it fit fine, but as wurger said, the MK IV didn't fit so well. Accuracy and blowback are amazing on propane, gas consumption lets me get 2 and a half mags of bb's on a very very cold day (40 degrees or so). Build quality is great, everything is solid and works very well even when put through terrible conditions (Mines been dropped, sat on, forced into the dirt, rained on... ) and still works just like new. If you're considering it, I say go for it.

What about the magazine capacity? The 1911 only holds 14 rounds compared to the M9's and others that hold 25-30 rounds. How much does this affect your gameplay?

I personally like the lower capacity. It makes you change mags more which in my opinion adds realism.

go with what you like. Iv been able to test the mark II mark IV and the M9 ptp. All of them are amazing. Differences are that the 1911's only hold 14 rounds compared to 22 on the m9. Not to big as its only 8 shot difference. I myself run with only 15 rounds in my m9 mags so they are more like real caps. The mark II and IV seem to blow back a little better but then the ones i tested were brand new and iv had my m9 for almost a year. Other than that its a feel, looks, and price thing. The 1911 have a very solid slide and blowback real nice. The m9 on the other hand only has the half slide and based of my tests doesnt have as nice a blowback (again it could be that its older and has seen much more use) Price wise the m9 is only 150 and the 1911's are 165. Mags cost the same but one holds 8 more rounds than the other. That right there is the reason i went with the m9 over the 1911's. I dont regret it as i love my m9 but if i had to choose again i would go for the 1911. The last thing you should consider is what you plan on doing with it. The mark II and IV for sure have a rail and i think the III does but the (1) does not. i bought my m9 to have as a backup and ended up buying a rail that doesnt work very well for when i use only my pistol in cqc games.

In the end you should go with what you like and fits your price range.

(If you change your mind id sell my m9 with 3 mags and a serpa plus the rail for 220 :) thats $300 worth of stuff)

As far as I can tell KWAs GBBs are modelled off of Tokyo Marui's, and I have heard, and had the experience, that TM's GBBs are fantastic. When handling a KWA (although I never fired it) its slide was wonderfully tight, and had no wobble, unlike the immense wobble one will find on a WE 1911. The Mark 1, which was what I handled, seems to have gotten a great deal of good reviews, and people say nice things about their NS2 system (correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that is what KWA uses in their GBBs) and how well it works.

Aside from their 1911s, I've shot their other GBBs, and all have preformed past what I have experienced using WEs, and one is better off with a KWA, if not a TM. The only bad things I can possibly think of regarding a KWA 1911 would have to be the externals, the lack of awesome sound when pulling back slide, and the plastic barrel (although some have said they have metal outer barrels, so, again, correct me if I'm wrong). Other than that I would say it is worth your money.

Another thing, if realism is your deal, like DJ said, the KWA 1911s are on par with the size and action with real steel 1911s. I was told by Vogonford, or Ivan Davlovich, I cannot recall who, that the magazines KWA uses are much more accurate with real steel magazines than a WE's magazine. I think this is a plus, and I've also heard that their magazines have less leaking issues out of the box, as there is that whole thing with WE magazines leaking terribly.

So, to answer your question, they're nice.

Don't let the plastic sway you against it, I've dealt with TMs, the plastic looks and, unless it's very warm, you can't tell the different between its plastic and KWA's metal.

If you didn't notice, the Tokyo Maruis are very similar to KWAs, and, I think, are the exact same design. Only the Tokyo Marui works better. They also use the same type of magazines, which are more realistic than the other kind of 1911s (such as WE).

However, its user preference, and KWAs are fantastic replicas, in terms of their GBBs. I'd prefer Tokyo Marui, though.

Thank you for your opinion, oh sage one....I'll give it all the consideration its due

I do not know whether that was a sarcastic or a snide remark.

I was merely giving my opinion to him.

No, you were posting in a thread to boost your postcount, without answering the OP's question, instead pitching a completely different option, an opinion which is completely unsolicited.

Also, it was obviously a sarcastic comment, not snide.

That said, I've heard nothing but good things about the KWA 1911s.

As some of you mentioned the mag capacity is a bit lower than most pistols these days, but the way I see it is with 14 rounds how can you complain? The real thing only holds about half of that! 7-8 rounds max, without a massive dong sticking out of the bottom of your gun that is. Of course, that's just my position on all airsoft guns; less ammo forces you to use better tactics, which in turn creates more realism.
