Need opinions on plate carriers

Postby MAB » Mon Dec 27, 2010 8:23 pm

Hi, Ive been searching for a new vest to buy, heres what Ive come up with so far. Need opinions on which to get.

option #1 Pantac CIRAS http://www.airsoftsmith.com/store/produ ... ts_id=2033

option #2 Pantac PC w/ cummberbund http://www.airsoftsmith.com/store/produ ... ts_id=1081

Which one should I get? Suggestions welcome, anyone with personal experience please share your thoughts.

Thanks!

Go with the second one, it's a replica of the EPC which is easily the most comfortable plate carrier I've ever worn.

How big are you and what do you intend on carrying?

Im 5' 9", I weigh 140 pounds. And am carrying 8 M4 mags. Would it be worth the extra cash to get the Eagle plate carrier?

If that's all you are carrying just stick with an EPC. And Coyote Brown looks better than tan IMO... It also works better around here.

If you do go the EPC (or clone thereof) route, be sure to get some HSGI shoulder pads. They are a GODSEND and will make your shoulders love you into the wee hours of the morning.

To throw another fish into the fryer, check the the DBT FAPC. More comfy than the EPC ( I have both and prefer my FAPC to my EPC) and are usually easier to find.

Pantac makes a replica of the FAPC as well

with cummerbund
http://www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/pro ... 0(%20CB%20)&catid=&cat=

although for that price and shipping, you almost might as well get the DBT one.

Exactly. Why buy china when you can get the real thing ;)

I realize I'm on a hardcore FAPC push, but its such a well built rig for such a good price, its hard not to talk about it ;)

Unlike Juicemachine where its just awkward to talk about him >> << >>

If I was to get the FAPC or the EPC (more than likley the EPC) I would need to find some pouches. What are the best quality pouches you can buy for the cheapest? Id like to keep it in the low $200's sooo, any sugestions... I would just need a drop pouch, utility pouch, and how ever many pouches for 8 mags. I already have a 3L Camelbak in desert camo and would like to match the vest with that, whats the best color to do so, peferably not multicam cause its WAY more expensive.

K.

This is easy; put three mags in the cummerbund hole thing. Then get a BFG Ten Speed triple shingle, cheapest real deal pouch I found, and it'll work great. TT's admin pouch is also cheap and good for holding wallets, patches, flash lights, maps, etc.

That works, but shipping is retardedly expensive.

Yeah, I think the Pantac is the best choice for me. Any opinions on what would be the best color. As I said, I have a 3L camelbak in desert camo http://www.tactical-store.com/picture-4 ... omega.html. So its either between CB and TAN.

The color is really going to have to be your own choice. Do you have an impression that you're trying to build up or do you just want a carrier and pouches that will go with a lot of different color combos for different impressions..etc or just a PMC type set-up?
