The sound of getting hit is pretty much the same with a pouch, plate carrier or camelbak.

I like to pretend that my plate carrier is bullet proof and so is my helmet. I rarely call hits unless it hits my face and that's only KA-BAR shots.

When it hits my arm I like to pretend that I aint got time to bleed like Jesse Ventura. Sometimes if I get lit up with 50 shots in the leg I will drag it like the leg is wounded.

A hit is a hit. It doesn't matter if it would have only gone through your backpack if it was a real bullet.

You chose to wear that backpack and make yourself a bigger target.

A hit is a hit (unless it is a weapon hit[weapon hits don't count{unless the rules say that they do}])

Sometimes ghillie suits are worse. But 9 times out of 10 the person wearing the ghillie is a self-absorbed asshole with a god complex, so they probably weren't going to call their hits anyway.

Honestly when it comes to weapon hits. I think if your gun is sticking out from a tree and gets shot.... It shouldn't be counted, but if it's hanging in front of your chest and a bb hits it. You should be out.

On a side note. I hate ghillie suits. I think for some people that wear them.. they can't tell when they're hit. (Not saying all. Several people in this community are good about it)

Like Ivan said, it happens a lot, but you can only control your actions so take the positive first step.

Mini-Marine wrote:The only time I have any difficulty telling if I've been hit while wearing a plate carrier is if it is raining heavily.

Other than that, the impact makes a pretty distinctive sound.

Catch22 wrote:I've seen alot of players not call hits. Wearing anything from plate carriers, Belt's and Y straps to no gear on at all.

I like to think the ones who didn't call hit. Either didn't feel it or I didn't hit them. The truth is somewhere in the middle tho.

+2 (for my 19 year old son and I)

It's a fashion show. We wear what we think looks good. It's not for protection. (Expect CQC comps.)

*face-palm*
Touche. How do I always forget the fashion show aspect of airsoft?

If your gun gets hit you shouldn't be able to use it, then.

Shhhhhh......

When I'm sniping, if I know there's a good chance I've been hit or I feel any small tugs/impacts on my suit, I'll call myself out just to be sure. Nothing more frustrating than hitting someone and not getting the kill. This is a sport of honor, when in doubt call yourself out.
I talk too much.

For some games, that would work. For smaller skirms probably not. Don't forget, when making the game more complicted... It leads to more complications ie.. The "That shot only hit my sight post or hand guard. So technically, my rifle would still work" arguement

Then the AEG should be considered as a club or spear.
Would the gun have put a death rag on and go to the respawn?

My pet peeve is when you shoot someone, they look around, and not seeing who shot them think they aren't hit...
