Its the issues for alot of people allergic to poison oak - thats why most of the people left there in the first place, not to mention the bee nests in the spring and summer..we have folks allergic to those too, myself included. Just throwing my 2 cents in..

No field confirmation.

Location is now Elk Lane.

*Edit* Just saw your post, Nox. What are our field options?

Hey skip is there poison oak out there this time of year? If so could you possibly get ahold of dan and see if we could use the field. I have tried calling him a number of times but have not heard anything back.

Follow Windstalker's directions to the very end of Elk Lane. There is a dirt round-about-ish area. That's the parking area.

Street view 3680 Elk Lane to see the end point.

Filed options are extremely limited at the moment unfortunately, elklane I suppose would be the best option if you didnt want to pay the field fee at Gold Hill.
To get to elk lane, drive down redwood highway until you hit Farmers building supply, and hang a left - follow the road until it branches but continue going straight. Follow it until you reach the cul-de-sac at the end.
Im not sure what pedestrian traffic could be out there on Saturdays, so dont be surprised if you see horse trailers out there if its decent weather.

well it depends honestly...if ur comming from the medford area, the feild fee for gold hill is better then the extra 10-15 for gas to get from there to gp...and im with nox, the poison oak thing bugs alot of people as well as there being no flatland and no boundries..that last one is a pro and a con, since games can last forever with how big elk lane is...im good for anything tho :)

1. Most people will be coming from Grants Pass or used to driving to Grants Pass. Also, it's a pain to verify that everyone pays the fee and making sure that you have the cash on hand. It's a hassle I don't want to deal with.

2. IN THEORY, the poison oak will not be active and the leaves should have fallen off for the winter, thereby mitigating the threat.

3. I'll keep the boundaries issue in mind when setting up the games.

Just feel like pointing out that the field fee at Gold Hill is only $3, so it's not like you'd be breaking the bank. Wish I could come but I will actually be in Portland that weekend :(

Cost isn't the issue. The concept of paying for a hastily thrown together game and execution in collecting the money is what I don't like. I'd also have to make sure that I had the cash on hand and change for the inevitability of people wanting to pay using 5's.

This is meant to be an easy, low stress game to reconnect with old friends and through some BB's around.

It's not that I don't want to PAY entry fees.

I just don't want to DEAL WITH entry fees...

To sum that ^^ up in a nutshell, Dan collects the money for all the people going to the field - has ones on hand for anyone that has large bills, and can get change from the clubhouse if he needs to. He's the money guy for the field owner who is also the owner of the golf course - at the end of the day, he drives the money up to the clubhouse and hands it over (IIRC)
All you need to do is bring the scenario and the game idea, everything else is covered. And nobody pays for the games, its just a field fee to cover the land usage...you'd be surprised to see what we've run out there lol

I'm tellin everyone that asks that we're going to Elk Lane, so if you decide to change it lemme know so I can adjust accordingly.

Ok, cool, thanks for the clarification. How good is the Gold Hill field?

At this point I'm going to stick to Elk Lane. It's a bit to late to change it.
