whatever happened to being responsible for yourself? maybe we would get a better pool of individuals (less hackers) if they actually had to be accountable for their own well being...

They're tasty. They're convenient. They have their own heater. They fit in my backpack and I can lay all over it without worrying about a container breaking.

Agreed. They're also closer to 1,500 calories...

wanna know what i want. more imerssive games with flair and panache.

for example.

OP:Solomans Pass, a AP/APST production. i was the CO for the Taliban. when this happened i set into motion planning a halal / muslim style feast for all of the team leaders under my command. i had pillows and a rug with a low table set full of...

dates
pita brread
hummus
lamb
falafel
goat and feta cheeses
flat breads

about 200 bucks in food. not to make money, but to have the team and its leaders under my control for the first time that i know of in this community feel like a real OPFOR Taliban style force. i belive solomans pass was the first kind of game to use this type of OPFOR, so as its commander, i thought how awsome to have a warlords meeting.

out of the 12 invited about 5 showed up.

so yea.

do it because you love it or dont do it at all.

the money made by promoters should be putting that into thier future games/props/field usage/and thier pockets for thier troubles

as far as i am concerned.

Ive noticed that the only purpose that a lunch break seems to serve is so that teams can switch spawn points in the game. This always irritates me because the whole first half of the game the teams have been gaining or losing ground from the original starting point. Now after the lunch break everything but the points for the OP get reset, that never made any sense to me. I like the idea of no lunch breaks and eating what you can in between respawns. This way the ground that a team gained and planned from can be defended and the team can continue to fight from what they already have, instead of essentially starting over after a "half hour" lunch break that always lasts closer to an hour.

I like bringing Big-100 bars to games. Nothing like stuffing your face when your sector is clear.

Plus, they only cost like 2 bucks.

Tactical quesadilla, it's already flat, don't have to worry about smashing it in your bag.

Most of this has been said but:
I agree lunches sorta kill/detract from the games. What happens is veryone plays for 3-5 hours, gets hungry, goes back to the cars, remove all their gear, eat, then proceed to shazaam around and then decide that they already have all their stuff off and are SORT OF tired and want to go home, resulting in only 25% of the people being left.

So all in all, i say no lunches.

Unless its good food, I'd rather have a lower price. I tend to loose a lot of steam if I eat some greasy lunch (pizza, burgers, hot dogs etc) since halfway up the hill to start the next round I feel bloated and get the itis. If the lunch was something on the healthy side, say fresh sandwiches, maybe some bananas or other fruit and gatorade, I'd be willing to pay extra for that. While I'm perfectly capable of providing my own meal, I won't say no to a properly prepared meal.

A snack bar system with no break would be nice too. If your feeling hungry and forgot to pack those clif bars, then a quick mosy down to the start point to grab some nommers would be nice, and let the game run all day with no break.

There will be no lunch break at Holy Wars 2...so pack your food and prepare to get some!

/shameless plug

On topic, I like the snack shack idea so that if I forgot my food/ couldn't be bothered to pack it I can just buy it there. A lunch break isn't always a bad thing, but it definitely hurts some games. I think the biggest problem is making them too long. If you said you give people longer than they need to eat, they will eat, then take off their gear, then lounge around, get comfortable, and realize they don't want to go back out/ go back out lazy. I think a lunch break could be done without hurting the game, the key is just not giving people enough time to get comfortable and lazy.
