What would you rather have at a game?

Discuss anything and everything here that's Airsoft related.

If its a good meal for +5, i would rather have that, since it always feels better to play and not be hungry

Would you like a snack bar situation at the field to purchase items before the game if there were not lunch breaks?

Also would it make it more real to have a crate of MRE's for sale at the field for $5 each. Would you purchase them?

I agree the lunch break kills the realism of the game but I have also seen numerous times, after 3+ hours of playing, players start losing tempers and what not. Is is the break, or actually the longevity of it. If it was 30 min from stop to start would that be better?

Would the full immersion eat when you can and shit when you can bring the realism up to par?

I wish event promoters worried about the balance and content of their games as much as they do about feeding people that are perfectly capable of bringing their own food.

Not really on topic, but can you elaborate on that?

I remember the first AP games I went to a year and a half or so ago, if I recall correctly, didn't have lunch breaks. I found that I was able to fight through the day without getting hungry hardly because I was so focused on the game.

I do think lunch breaks can sometimes kill games, other times it is a good pause so organizers can figure stuff out ect.

I think a snack shop or just the reminder that there will be no lunch or break is good enough.
If i'm that hungry while i'm waiting to spawn i'll pull out a cliff bar or something to munch on.

I would be interested if you were to sell MREs on the field for on the field lunch rations.
Kick me. I go "Moooooooo!!!!!"

I feel that events as of late have put a lot of focus on aspects of an airsoft event that have little to do with airsoft. To a small extent, raffles fall into this category, but there has been a trend of catered food and barbecues that really aren't necessary. In order to feed 100+ people, an event promoter might spend a large quantity of time arranging the delivery, preparation, and general logistics behind outputting all that food in a given time. That time could be better spent preparing the field, building (relevant) props instead of the same PVC pipes and flags all the time.

I don't want to see it get to point that there are small skirmishes scheduled on either side of some meal. If an event promoter is taking home hundreds (or thousands) of dollars from the community, it sure would be nice to have a decent game to show for it.

Maybe I need to start holding more free skirms so people can see that the "OPs" they've been paying $25-30 for every couple months have been an airsoft experience they could have had for free...

Never go into a thread hungry.

Shit, I'm starving.

That being said, I definitely get lazier after the lunch breaks.

Here, here! You know those nice shoulder pockets on ACU cuts? Perfect size to fit pop-tart packets...

no lunch break, lower price but i like the idea of a snack bar. Would be more real while eating and making sure no body pops up and mows down the team. MRE's? maybe. Iv only been to three ops but at each one it seems the lunch break cuts into the playing time, sometimes by a considerable amount. Im not sure if it was OP rez 1 or 2 but if i remember correctly the lunch break cut into the game time by a good half hour if not more.

I'm usually not impressed with the food at games. I guess it depends on what it is. Hot Dogs, I don't even call those food. A nicely grilled hamburger, that might be worth a higher admission price. It all depends on the quality... but most of all I can just bring my own, I know where the grocery store is.

Also - MREs? Why? aren't those things like 4000 calories? You aren't burning 4000 calories standing around shooting your DMR from 200 feet away lobbing shots from behind a tree all day. Sometimes I can't help but chuckle at guys eating MREs at a 1-day skirmish.

We used to do the "bring what you need with you on the field" games where there was no lunch break. You eat at your base camp, if you brought food. I miss those games. I'll probably have to bring that back.

They're tasty. They're convenient. They have their own heater. They fit in my backpack and I can lay all over it without worrying about a container breaking.
