Help

Postby Stanson » Sun Dec 12, 2010 10:22 pm

I have this headset and I don't know what's wrong. I have it plugged into my Motorola Talkabout and I can hear stuff through the speaker but when I push the button on the ptt nothing happens. Is the mic broken or do I need some kind of setting on because it worked fine a few weeks ago and I've only fielded it once or twice. Note: no excessive rain, dirt, dust, or yanking has been done to this headset. Please Help. Thanks!

the bravo headsets are notorious for crappy wiring. ive heard of people manually rewiring them with good results, but don't attempt it if you don't know what you are doing.

Aren't Bravo headsets just rebranded ACM ones with $30-50 added to the pricetag?

...if so thats more than just a load of BS...

you get what you pay for. the nice repro headsets are $120-$150. the real ones are two or three times that much. i know a lot of people have bravo/acm headsets that work fine, but i also know a lot of people who got one that didn't even work out of the box.

nasty - yep.

Hmm.... Well I guess I might as well try to rewire it. Dang, now I gotta go do some studying on circuits n' such seeing as I barely know anything about that sorta stuff. Better than doing nothing though eh?

definitely. But its a damn shame that you got exactly what you were trying to avoid and that would be the types of headsets that are iffy and 50% actually work

Alrighty the mikes just plain dead. Don't know how it happened but it's gone. So now I'm in the market for a new one. Any one got any good, relatively inexpensive suggestions, because now I don't even know were I'm gonna get one.
