Hey, it's snowing in the NW... in November... as everyone already knows... Anyways, you know what that means?? Arctic warfare (as I like to call it, not sure if it is the correct term or not) is going to be abundant... very abundant. Now, on to the point, I want to get all the noob questions that I want to ask and that anyone could want to ask. This may be in a thread already, so feel free to link to any thread that has already brought up this topic. Anyways, here we go:
Should I just leave my GBB replicas at home during this time of year?
Would bulkier plate carriers mean less need for multiple underlayers (for the sake of the mobility of the arms)?
What head gear is suggested ("tactical" headgear)?
What gloves are suggested (aside from ski gloves)?
Can snow jam my magazines?
What camouglage patterns, uniform cuts, boot styles, and gear colors/styles are the most effective/suggested for arctic warfare?
How many extra batteries for my AEG/radio(s)/other electronic equipment should I bring to compensate for the cooling effect on batteries?

Usually start with a beanie or fleece cap, then move to a ballcap or boonie, as you warm up. I prefer a helmet tho, a cold ear getting shot sucks
What gloves are suggested (aside from ski gloves)?

Gortex boots are the best at keeping your feet dry. You'll probably want to get a set of gortex pants. Personally I like winterweight Danish M84 pants and a softshell Jacket. As for best camo for the winter, Pacman can tell you, I think it's ACU/UCP trousers with a Temperate Marpat shirt.

For Artic Warfare you have to go with what most of Europe uses , they know a thing or two about about this type of warfare.
They use German Schneetarn , it is reversible from the Forest spots pattern to the Overall White , the spot side works great for the wooded areas like what we have up here in the PNW ( very similar to European Forests ) and the All white side works great for wide open spaces.
The beauty of Scheetarn is that it's an oversuit , which means you can wear any colored uniform you want under it , even civvies .

Headwear: Soviet Ushanka
Camo: White painters suit or at leas use a pair of ACU woodland. The base color for that is white, right?
And for water, as long as you store it in a non rigid container and break the ice fairly frequently it wont freeze solid.

-I don't bother with a gbb, but some people jest keep thier mags warm in a pocket or something
-I find that my tighter fitting "soft" body armor keeps me warmer, but my plate carrier is a little loose on me so it doesn't insulate very much.
-I just wear my balaclava or my toque, and a a warm hat.
-What gloves you use kind of depends on your gun, if you have a gun that can be used with big gloves (AUG, sig552, famas...) then wear your warmest pair.
-Snow shouldn't be able to get inside of your magazine, but if it does it could jam them up, especialy if it is wet snow, and it freezes inside your mag.
- I wear 3/4 length USGI white camo smock over my gear and either my flecktarn parka, or my wool great coat depending on how cold it is. Insulated boots aren't necessary but they should be water proof, also a pair of gaiters are really great to keep snow out of your shoes and pants.
-One lipo lasts all day for me. just be sure that if you have any down time you take out your battery and warm it up.

ACU's do not actually work as well in snow as one might think, at least in my experience. My recommendation would be a set of surplus woodland BDU's turned inside out; it should give you a nice faint green color that I have found works quite well in snow.

I've used ACU's in the snow and they work pretty damn good.
A set of overwhites help as well as a white helmet cover and a white ruck cover.
