IBH Helmet Cover

Postby Slowgun » Thu Nov 11, 2010 12:32 pm

Hey guys, I recently got myself a tan IBH Helmet and was wondering if anyone has seen helmet covers for an IBH? I've looked around and haven't had any luck finding any. Multicam is what I am looking for, but if you find other colors, I'd have interest in those too. Thanks!
I've seen covers for other helmets but I didnt know if they would fit on and IBH. For example:

This is the helmet I'm refering to:

I don't recall seeing any helmet covers for IBH's, so it may be time to break out the paints & get all Picasso on that bucket of yours. :)

Of course, you could channel your inner Hugo Boss & sew your own helmet cover. Just grab a cheap helmet cover & note how the pattern works then fabricate your own. :D

No, They don't make helmet covers for the IBH. MICH/ACH and PASGT/LWH helmet covers won't fit them. You're only real options are water tranfer camouflage. Or get some Krylon Camouflage paint and camouflage it yourself.

Hey there, just thought I would ask a question here since the topic came up. To anyone who owns an IBH: Would you recommend them over a MICH/PASGT if I planned on running goggles?

Sorry for jacking the thread, just didn't want to start a new one for such a small question.

If I was gonna recomend a helmet... I'd suggest a MICH/ACH. IMO it's more comfortable than and IBH and with the addition of goggle retention straps (rabbit ears) it's perfet for the use of goggles.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v342/kriegsafe/Rangers/297194s.jpg You can also go with adding velcro to the helmet and goggle straps http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v342/kriegsafe/Rangers/297233.jpg

MICH if you're going ABS construction, PASGT if you're going kevlar if only because it's considerably cheaper. The issue with IBH is it's not a service helmet, so it's hard to find things for it. No covers, no insides, no nothing. MICH is more comfy, anyway.

In the mid 90's the IBH was issued to SEAL's and PJ's, in very limited numbers for testing. SOCOM choose not to adopt the helmet but SEAL's continued using them, even up to few years ago.

MICH pads and straps do work with an IBH though.

Personally, I'd run glasses over goggles if your using a bucket. When I was using my goggles with my IBH, it was very uncomfortable and I had fogging issues to no end.
