Pacman wrote:Theres a lot of changes being made on the fly from the original write up for the game- Is there any other changes in the pipeline which will further affect game play? The Private forums seem to be vague on details as to why some of the original tenets of the game have been changed and I'm concerned this will affect turnout as people are getting conflicting directives. The rosters also reflect that the Govt/PMC forces are both full which as far as I know is not the case. I'm hoping we have clarification to possibly increase the numbers of the Govt forces whose numbers have remained the same while PMC's have been upped from the original limit of 10.

I have not changed the rules, and I relize they are rather vauge. Basically I have all the rules, and how it is going to go down in my head-what I am getting from you is that I am not doing a very good job of conveying it, so I shall try better. I will write up a post for both teams and post it here explaining the first round (game time before lunch).

As far as the teams go, I relize that PC and Gov are not what I had originally planned. Effectivley you will be working as the same team in the game, so it does not matter. I closed it because I wanted only 30 people for those two sides. Outcast only have a few spots left, but it is flexible.

I am doing my best to keep the rules as simple as possible but keep the game interesting with good plots.

On another note, I will be messaging all team leads/admins and briefing them on exactly what will be going on for both sides (as far as rules/plot, not tactics that teams have developed ect)

Hope that helped, let me know if you have any specific questions. I will have the map up today, sorry it took so long. I also plan on having copies of the map when you register.

--Thank you

Here is a map that shows the location of both teams respawns. The teams "official bases" will be where you will want to take the crates back to, however you can respawn at either the base, or the designate respawn point. It is a 3 person respawn. I still have to change that in the rules, don't worry I know what I'm doing.

Sweet, it will be awesome to have you stick around.

Ok so the original plan for the Gov/PC sides was to have that in there in case I needed/wanted to work it into the plot. I haven't used it for this game (almost did, and it would have been so awesome, but it was just to complicated) but it can still be used if I ever wanted to do a sequel.

So let me get this straight. We are defending the crates or do we go get them and bring them back to our camp. Also, If we are in the camp, and the outcasts are going for the crates, and say we light them up along the way and take them first, what do we do then? Or vise versa, if they get all the crates back because we are sitting on our thumbs drinking coffee what then? How many crates are there? Are the crates the only objectives for the game?

So for the first part of the game the only objective is to get the crates, there are 5 of them. They measure 7"x9"x2.5' so it is possible for one person to carry a single crate, however they are rather awkward especially with a rifle. The crates are a olive drab green with tan/yellow labels on them, they will all be stacked together and not spread out. The objective is to take them back to your base or respawn point. There you can open them up and there will be instructions on how to use the items inside. The items will only be in effect for the first round (before lunch) after that, I would like all items returned to me as well as the crates.

Once the teams capture all the crates and take them to their spawn point or base the round will keep playing out and you guys can get some quality skirmish time. I don't know if one team would want to push to attack a base /spawn point or not. It is only a 3 man respawn so once the crates have all been captured, just have fun skirming.

Also note there are not "point values" assigned to anything, there is a story, based on what happens in the game the story will change.

On your question about the rules of engagement for PC/Gov forces: do not fire on Scavenger/outcast unless there is a pointed and loaded rifle at you. There really is no penalty for not obeying this rule, BUT if we are being realistic here, there could be significant consequences. So why have this rule? Simply for the feel. I am shooting for a tension filled first few minutes of the game where the Scav/OutC could technically walk right up to the other side and not get fired upon ect. But of course once the first bullet flies, it all goes right out the window.

--

Once again, I know I am not doing a very good job of conveying the outline for the game, I do know what I am doing and it will be much easier to go over it on game day, but if you have any questions, keeps asking! (sorry I am doing a poor job at explaining everything)

Last note, for the second round, it is intentionally obscure and no one knows (accept me) how the second round will go.
