RIP Joe Rodewald

Most of you probably didn't know this guy. He went to school with GrahamC and I at SAHS. I played football with him (well he was on JV when I was playing Frosh) and I even had the pleasure of wrestling against him in practice for a season while I did the Jock thing. He and I were never really good friends but I could respect his passion for sports and life. He didn't like the idea of airsoft when I first told him about it and showed him some footage from the first Project Nephilim. But I understood and respected his opinion. On October 13th he was killed by an IED in Afghanistan. I thought I might pass this on so that those of us who are in the military, or have a pure genuine respect for those that have (like myself) can acknowledge his service to our country.

Semper Fi Joe. I'm glad that men like you have lived.

He made the ultimate sacrifice, his family should be proud of him. My heart goes out to them as it's a hard thing to come to grips with, Semper Fi

Thanks Joe, RIP mate.
I do hope that after all this discreditable shuffling we may be taken into action. It has a wonderful way of reconciling a man with himself: and with everybody else, sometimes. - 1st Lt. James Dillon

My friend Meagan (who graduated with Joe and myself) told me at work today. I kind of shrugged it off at the time because, well honestly, I never really got along with anyone from high school and Joe got lumped into the group of people who never really bothered with me and so I never really bothered with them and I was busy working.

Now that I'm sitting at home, it's really hitting me.

Joe was one of the good guys.

RIP Joe, everyone in the class of SAHS 07 will mourn your death...

I wish I could give you a hug.

I know this feeling and it sucks! I wish we could bring all our troops home to their families.
