1. How many mags do you carry for your side arms?
2. How many mags do army rangers carry for their sidearms?
3. How many mags do army special forces carry for their sidearms?
4. How many mags do marsoc guys carry for their sidearms?
Thanks for taking the time to answer!

Depends on the sidearm. With the M9, most carry 1 + 2, and for the longest time, the M1911A1 was carried with two spare mags as well. It's a bit of a difference in the focus on pistols. Americans notably have more of a focus on their handguns than other nations, both in civilian ownership and military.
Most of the European armies still issue one in the gun, one spare. You're only expected to ever fire off a few rounds if you need a pistol, which is a pretty sensible attitude. Ever wondered why the Glock has that little cutout in the base of the grip? The Austrians actually wanted a magazine that did not drop free from their pistol, and the first Glocks used all-polymer magazines that expanded when loaded with rounds. A steel liner allowed the mags to drop free when the pistol started to gain popularity in the US.
Back to your question, Special Forces... carry whatever the shazaam they want, really. Though, it's really not uncommon to skip sidearms altogether so you can carry more ammunition and supplies. I'd say if you're doing an SF loadout, it hardly matters. Sig P226 with two mags, done.
Rangers are *relatively* standard infantry, so they'd carry two spare mags for their M9s, if they were even issued one.
MARSOC either uses the M9A1 or the MEU 1911 pistol. The M9 is again, used with two mags, but the MEU 1911 is issued with five magazines in total - a bit of an update with the times. Since they're single stack, it's easy to double the number you'd carry for a hi-cap sidearm.
There's a key point to remember for airsoft loadouts - an airsoft gun holds a lot more ammo than a real gun, to the point where extended magazines generally aren't even needed. Magazines are also very expensive in comparison.
I carry a single stack 1911 with four mags on the belt, since I play pistol these days. Normally load twelve per due to gas consumption. Bell used to sell their 1911 mags for, I think twenty bucks for three? I would just get a Tuff Products "eight-in-line" and load to real spec, but the deal has since disappeared and it's looking a bit expensive with other brands. I've considered getting a TM Detonics as a backup, and getting that ACM M500 repaired as well.
