KSC/KWA KP45 upgrades?

Postby Arbiter » Sat Sep 11, 2010 11:11 pm

Is there any good upgrades easily available for the KSC/KWA kp45 out there? Like a threaded barrel, ect. and is there a good place to get mags? I haven't been able to find any in stock. Not the one I need anyways.

well, start off by saying which magazine you need specifically.

Arbiter, KWA makes three mags for the full size KP45 line; the standard, tactical, and match. All three will fit in your gun, but the tactical and match will stick out of the bottom of your mag well as the mag well on those pistols is a little longer. The standard KP45 magazine is exactly like the one you have that came with the gun.

As far as upgrades, the most obvious would be a tightbore barrel. I believe EdGI makes a 6.03 tightbore available at KWA's proshop or Dwayne Dees is currently finishing a 6.01 tightbore under our PCT brand at Precision. He actually installed the prototype in my 1911 MkII on Friday and we were holding 2 inch group at 20 feet. We expect them to be finished and available by Thursday the 16th.

Okay thanks! That helps allot! also one more question. is there a hop up for it out there? i seem to have managed to tear one of mine completely. A whole new barrel assembly would be great too!

No hop up upgrades so far but check KWAUSA (google it) and they have a pro shop where you can order spare parts

Upgrade wise:

All you need or could really add is a 601 or 603 TBB

The engine of the new NS2\System 7 pistols are top notch and do not need all those crazy high flow valves that really just waste a lot of gas or 1000% recoil spring guides since they're metal and stiff enough already

The "newer" ones come with a steel or allum rocket valve but you can always pick up a shooters design one at ehobby for like 15 + S&H but other than that there is really nothing else you "need" to upgrade- if you wanted a metal outter barrel or even one with threading then go shooters design- most of this stuff is on ehobby or WGC shop so over seas-

I've owned a KSC USP S7 with full metal slide for a year and it shot 360 with a 02g bb at room temperature- It'd be pissing money away to "upgrade" it but hey it's not my money

People are too used to Tm's and clone guns & the plethora of these ridiculous performance upgrades to make them shoot decently or not break after a certain number of cycles

my 02 cents

I believe so. I have both a new one and an old one (stock) but the parts interchange perfectly.

Yeah it should work. Basically NS2 means that they took the gas system from the Glock series and modified it to fit everything else because it was so efficient. They also changed the feed lips on the magazines to one piece so they wouldn't break as easy. The NS2 magazines shape wise though are the same as the old ones.

The ns2 and older models CANNOT interchange magazines! almost nothing is interchangeable. Here's a comparison video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DkiLY_qwXkg

If you contact KWA directly they can refurbish your magazines or buy the older magazines from them directly.

They really don't need any mods. I have a KWA KP45 Tactical and a KSC USP Compact (both NS2). Both shoot great out of the box. The hop can be a bit difficult to get dialed in, but, at least in my experience, the hop will get better the more you shoot.
