I actually had to log in on this one. That means something! Well, to me anyway.

Alot of the miscreant behavior is why I don't attend 'large events' so much anymore.

I came to the conclusion a while ago that the more players in attendence, the more chance we had of someone ruining the fun.

I'd like to think that my personal responsibility, terrible spelling not withstanding, has kept my posts and interactions on the up-and-up, and it was sad to see how quickly people resorted to crude responses and 'baby-punching'.

That's our communities nature to a degree, but there are repercussions for that nature, and I've watched the degradation of the forums for quite a while.

I love that so many people who were 'new' in my day have become prominent, good-standing, members. However, we've also picked up a lot of bad habbits along the way.

I can't really propose a 'clean up our act' movement, seeing as half of you reading this are probably just wondering who I am... or worse, 'Who do I THINK I am?!' - but a little prudence would go along way.

If these people are so uptight that they would back out of a deal just because of something they read on a discussion forum, did you really want to deal with them in the first place? I agree with Matt though. It would be silly to delete all the retarded and / or vulgar stuff on here because, in person, we are, for the most part, vulgar retards. If we advertise that we aren't on AP and then show up at a game and act like our usual selves, then the land owner, if they were counting on a bunch of clean cut players, may have a bit of a fit.

Since the guy didn't tell you exactly why he declined, everything said here is just speculation. You know, his wife may have not liked it and said no but didn't want to say that. I've seen it happen before.

If you really want to know, just write back and say "Sorry things did not work out. However, would you be willing to share with us specifically what change your mind? If we don't know what's broken, we can't fix it." If he tells you then you can fix it if you think whatever the issue is, is a problem. If he doesn't, then I think he's using you as a scapegoat and isn't worth the time anyway.

Ah thats right. They must have been looking at PLA recruitment threads and propaganda from a year ago.. Because that is all current and when you click the team section or events thread it is on the first page. All the stuff you mentioned is history, and is lost in the huge amounts of pages that cover each section. they would have to spend quite a bit of time searching the forums to find that stuff, even if they did know what it was they were looking for.
